Well furstly, you spelled pyometra correctly. But,I am a bit concerned by the wording of your post. Are you implying that pyometras are caused by men having sex with female dogs? Ergo, men should never be allowed have sex with female dogs?  <_< Because it really sounds like that. Pyometra is not caused by sexual intercourse, in fact it can be fairly argued that it is caused by a lack of sexual activity when a female dog has come into heat. There are other factors as well that play into the condition. This post has been edited by energydog on Feb 8 2007, 08:19 PM |

Pyometra may be caused by men without knowledge of hygieine when having sex with a lady dog. Male dogs with a foreskin infection can cause the same. There is a study running herearound, where even experts participate. I think they know about such things, maybe even better thay you do. |

Wow, I kept putting it off and was starting to think noone was going to say anything, thanks southie :D
This may have some truth to it... wiki explains pyo being caused by bacteria in the vagina. So if you have bad hygiene having sex 1-2 months after her heat might be more dangerous so make sure you are extra clean if you have sex in that time... However, bacteria is there regardless of what you do and wiki makes no mention about whether or not sex can cause it... simply if it happens, spaying is the best remedy (since most treated medically will be infected again within 2 years). |
