Well if the question really is, if you were to magically snap your fingers to take away our zooish/beasty desires, would you. To be honest, probably not. Its not so much that I wouldn't like being involved in a human relationship (as many in here seem to be able to accomplish), but I just don't think its possilbe for myself. I like the idea that I could find a compatible human partner with which I could share my lifestyle. But to be honest, I am shit at human relations. To be perfectly frank, I don't think I am personally capable of feeling human love. I just can't seem to muster up the emotions that other people describe when they fall in love with another human. While everyone wan't to be accepted and liked and part of the group. Taking away the love I feel for dogs is not going to give the ability to love my own species. I know that I can feel love with regard to animals. Its just I've never come anywhere near those feelings with people, not even my parents. Human love in general is a bafflement to me. I know that makes me a misanthrope, but what can you do. Then to take away the love I can feel for animals, would then leave me with nothing to feel except ennui and depression and hate. That's a pretty miserable state of affairs, so definitely I would not like to have taken away what little positive emotions I feel. Hence I would not give up my love for animals.

Energydog's post explained this very well and I have similar feelings to his, but mine are also just a little bit different.

I won't give up my zoo life. It's who I am and who I wish to be. The love I feel for animals is constant and never-ending. Does this mean I don't like humans at all? No, it does not. I would love to be able to share and have a relationship with a special man, who accepts all of me. The thing is, I won't settle for just any relationship with a man. I've done human relationships, mostly hiding or not sharing any of my zoo life. I can't live like that anymore, its not fair to my human partner or myself. My greatest dream is to have both a canine lover and a human lover at my side. Maybe it will happen and maybe it won't. Until then, I will live my life as a zoo, very happy and content.

My thanks go out to all who posted. =) I would never want to change myself and I wanted to know wether or not I was alone. I was also quite curious.

In a perfict world I would be zoo only and the heck with people other than basic life functions such as work and things. I only realy relate with people to not draw attention to my self. I really just don't like people for the most part, other than the people from here and some close personal friends and family.

Yeah, thats exactly like me really... I have a hard time getting along with a lot of people.

Im lucky enough to be able to call myself an Omnisexual, happily married to a wonderful lady who not only knows, but accepts my zoo interests and activities (as long as its not another woman its all good) Not to mention i came to terms with who i am long ago and having said that, wouldnt change a thing.

I wouldn't change myself for the world! I love my animals in a way most "regular" people could never understand nor feel for their human partner.

My wife and I were talking about the animals today during a long car ride. I told her that I didn't care if my penis fell off (well I would really, but for the purposes of making my hypothetical point), if my penis fell off I would still love my horses with all of my heart and wouldn't change anything, (except of course that I wouldn't stick my penis in them anymore. My relationship with my animals is not based on sex, rather it is based on love. I am very proud of the love I have for my animals, and I am proud to say that I would put my life on the line for any one of them, and would never abandon them for any reason.

I know what you mean there. I wasn't really raised with religion and love wasn't something that was shown in my family circus. I've had a few short term relationships with human females but never felt any form of love. I found I preferred to be with a male canine as my sole companion. For me I only feel love between canines because an animal doesn't deceive and cannot hurt you, they can only show affection ^_^

As for the topic, I just don't belong with the same species nor would I want to change if it was possible and in my eyes, this is normal no matter how many people oppose it.

For me, being zoo ist my life, and I would not give it in change for anything. I live happily being a zoo, if others dislike, let it be their problem. If I got the chance for a new life after this, I would likely go for a zoo life again. Imagine the boring life of a boring normal hetero! :P

Well, I like men (and women lol) but I prefer a dog. I would rather live with a dog than with a guy or girl- it's just a more fulfilling relationship for me. I'm not averse to people at all; I enjoy being around them but I guess I feel closest to a dog. I suppose in a perfect world I'd integrate a guy and a dog into my life- maybe that will happen someday but I don't dwell on the possibility. Things are what they are and I am ok with that!
