Then I'm not sure, as I'm only using IE7 (yes I'll get told I'm a bad boy soon enough, but IE 6 doesn't run in 64bit mode)

For me it's been an issue for months that something mucks up in how flash interacts with the browser, and it's not just here, so I jsut have to do what you've already said you've done, and clear out the cache, delete all cookies, whipe temporary files etc....

If it's also effecting Firefox, I would venture a guess that it may be slightly related to the loadtime/server issues that have been recently reported, but as I've been out of school for too long the info is past me, and webhampster, beaker or the other technical guru's could prob help better.

Howdy!

I am having a problem getting into chatroom

I am a new member. Here is the problem: When I click on chat, I get a new window where initialization happens. Then I get an error saying "user name is reserved. Please try another username"

I haven't seen anything in the faqs regarding this problem.

It wont log me in to the chat.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advanced

There is a rule for general posting that states:
QUOTE
6.2.0 you must be a member of the forum for 24 hours before you can make any post

The same may apply to the chat room. After the 24 hour period is over, if you are still having problems, let us know. In the meantime, be sure to read up on the Rules.

Howdy!
I will wait another day to try the chatrooms again.

I understand the 24 hour posting, as explained in the rules. But obviously, I am able to post at this time.

Perhaps the chatroom takes longer? I will try getting in tomorrow.

Thanks ^_^

it seems that every time I try to open the chat room the sighn in page pops up even though I'm sighned in.  just wondering what I'm doing wrong.

thanks

Try logging out of BF then logging back in again so a new cookie is generated, then try it again as it sounds like your forum cookie isn't being recognised and your user/group details aren't being passed along to the chatroom software.

No, try logging out and logging in again BUT make sure that the "Remember my details" box is checked.

That will then store the required cookie on your computer so that you can enter the chat.

That's probably where the problem lies.

cant hurt none the less :)

Finally!!!!

That was my problem. I am using a shared computer and never checked the remember me setting. Tried that and was able to get into chat, but it was a little hard to follow along. I'll try again though.

Thanks.

New chat is much improved but I can't always get in. Won't connect to server or timeout message shows. I have window washer that clears out all the stuff I need, so don't think it it that. Yesterday I was in the room for a hour or so then it lost connection and I could not get back in.
