Why is there so little evidence of sex with primates. I would have thought this was an obviouse place to start as the physiology to humans is very similar. Does anyone have experiance of sex with monkeys or apes of any description?

i am sure there has been been some occurences of this somewhere ,sometime as many zookeepers that have worked in a close relationship with their charges espcially men in charge of female chimps or gorillas i am sure these animals have devoloped a bond with their keepers and i often wonder if these females have presented themselves to their keepers as female dogs and mares do. its an interesting subject and in as instances of human and animal sexual contact that we hear about on this forum i am sure someday we will hear about someone who has had experiances with primates.i know myself and many of you that had the oppurtinty would at least try it maybe to just cop a feel

But isn't there the problem of actually having a strong chance of producing offspring with an ape? Gorillas, Orangutans and Chimps are very closly related and I'm fairly certain that we could interbreed with them. And can you imagine what the media would do if they found out :wacko:

The problem is that not much people have access to such animals. Don't know anybody who has an ape at home, and stories and photos from the zoo are dangerous for the writer/photographer ...

Personally, I think they're too much like humans for comfort. :P Creeps me out just a tad.

Their behavior worries me too, kind of unpredictable.

As they are genetically close to human species, some sexual desease can be tranmissted. So it is safer to have sex with a dog than with a chimp....

I find the concept of sex with monkeys/apes to be rather, for lack of a better term, disgusting. I don't know why exactly I feel that way. Perhaps its because monkeys/apes are too close to humans in appearance that I find them appealing in any way.

It's not possible to impregnate any thing other than a human, if you're a human. The genetics just don't match. Molecularly, it's the same as impregnating a dog. Just can't happen.

It's kinda interesting, I agree about how you'd think there'd be people talking about their experiences. But then I guess on the other hand it's true it's harder to get such contact with primates. Maybe someone on a jungle safari? hehe, interesting though, they're the closest animals physically and genetically to humans, that it seems people DON'T want to have sex with them, they'd rather do something that moves on four legs or something. Well I'm blissfully happy with my mate Sunwheat, so I dont need a chimp, but interesting topic!

I suppose it has happened, now and then, or attempts have been made. As one poster pointed out, not many people have the opportunity to get close to prinates. Another problem would seem to be that for their size, primates genitalia are much smaller than those of humans. I think even the great apes, chimps, gorillas and orangutans have much smaller penises and vaginas than humans do. And the fact that they are several times stronger than humas would make the actual act a dangerous proposition.

There is a reference I recall from a legitimate zoologist/primatologist that described in some detail an over-excited young male orangutan who attempted to copulate with one of the female staff members. Forcibly attempted. As there was physically little she could do about it, she let him go about his business. Given the fact that she was clothed, and again, the small genitalia of apes, I suspect it was simply a dry-hump, although I doubt that made the woman a whole lot happier about the situation.

Personallly I think sex with a great ape female might be interesting, but I think you need to be careful how you word your dislike for something...If you were to substitute cows or horses or any other animal you'd be facing a firestorm here like you wouldn't believe. Just because you find something not to your liking doesn't mean it's okay to be trashing it.
