could be depending on the software you are using?

- try a commercial avi-joiner, maybe as a shareware-version you have just a limit of files, which you join together.... but try this procedere with the first three files. then playback it. If it works fine, join the other files with the recently one. Maybe try several video-join-proggys to be succesful!

- no video, while playing .avi-files.... you could need to install a codec for that issue?!

....
in windows media player you can only hear a sound?
your system misses a codec; try out xp codec
can be found here:
http://www.codecs.com/download/XP_Codec_Pack.htm (information page about the content of this packet with download link)

i think, you could use VLC player with the right codec to play such kind of files - like mpg1/avi/mpg2 etc.

if i want to watch my own splitfiles (mpg1 or mpg2) i cant play them with WMP ... while trying it with VLC-player it works fine. If a single/chunk/split-file wont play, i rejoin them with other parts and play the result-file again = works fine!!!!

Don't use the codec packs listed here... they could be infested with spyware...

Best decoder: ffdshow (build by clsid)
Make sure to check all the options for video and audio decoding.
VERY fast, VERY lightweight, and open-source.
ffdshow clsid build

uhm? they could , but i find out... they arent having any spyware or similar????!

in my own case i would recommance the ".AVI Splitter" ....(=AVI-files which can be seperatly played).
more movie in one file (8 mb mpg=40-50 seconds / 8 mb avi = appr. 1:20)

A really good media player I have found is VLC media player. It is really robust and I still havent found any files I havent been able to play on it. It also doesnt cost anything and doesnt have any annoying adverts. Another plus is it doesnt add any annoying programs to your computer either.

I can't link to it so here is the best I can do
