Hi Alice. Great work, but the only criticism I would give is to have a few more rhetorical questions, because that really adds to the mystery of the story. Like at the end when she asks "Did Dad know?" or something, dont answer in brackets "of course he did" just leave it open to the reader's interpretation or reveal it in another part of the story. I'm guessing this is a true story and Jen is a real person, but omitting that piece of information could have a good effect on the reader. For example, if one reader is turned on by the idea of the father not knowing they would use their imagination and the story would come more into life. However, if another liked the idea of a man sharing his wife with a dog, that could work the same way. Ignore my comment if none of this was your intention to begin with.

Yes, Jen is a real person and I was trying to capture her story. Thank you for your suggestion to keep "loose ends" dangling so that readers can use their imagination or as stubs to further the adventure. I guess this is how J.K. Rowlings keeps her readers coming back for more.
