These instructions apply to PCs running Windows. It is possible for Mac or Linux users to connect, but that connection will not be reliable.

3) In Internet Explorer open...
Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced 3a) Untick the Java (Sun) section 3b) Make sure all 3 items of the Microsoft VM section are ticked. ** see attached image 4) Close and Restart Internet Explorer, then go to the chat link you want (either http://www.beastforum.com/chat/ or http:www.beastchat.com ) You should be able to gain reliable and consistent access to the Chat Room. This worked for me, I get in there eaverytime on the first attempt. I hope this helps the frustrated chatters. Attached Image ( Click on thumbnail to view full size image ) |

It was a post that has helped quite a few people but was still moved from the Stickies section to the anonymous depths of the FAQ section where it will probably help no-one. I honestly don't understand some of the reasons why some things are done round here. Frankly it makes me wonder why I should spend time trying to help people with problems. Yes, I'm a bit pissed! |

Ta very muchl...Webby isn't pissed at all now :lol: As an addendum, I just tried accessing chat via Firefox v2.0 and it seems to work AOK with the default settings. |
