Hi everyone, i live in NY and i am wondering how many dogs am i legaly able to own. I have already taken the matter of how the dogs will socialize and such b/c im planning to get them as puppies. I am planning to maybe get 2-4 puppies and raising all of them equally and loving them all unconditionally. But yeah i would like to know if any1 can answer this question for me.Um, i think i might be getting medium to large breed of dogs.If any1 have suggestions ill take them into consideration. But i think i would exclude the really big ones like GB,St.bernards, irish wolfhounds my living space isnt that big for them sadly cuz they are magnificent creatures/gentle beings.

~Love
P.S. thank you in advance for those who will share there thoughts.

the answer to this would depend on what city and state you live in.. best bet would be to call an animal shelter in your area they would know .....

The best advice I can give, would be to check with your local city hall. It's more than likely they will have some type of "by-law"on the books that states how many animals one can safely have on a specific piece of property.
If you are in a rural area, with acreage, panning for a "kennel" or some kind of "rescue"operation, things maybe different. If your in a house in the city, with limited spacee, then it would be better to limit to one or two. Go slow and check out the local laws carefully,in order to prvent future problems.
Just my opinion.

raising 2-4 puppies sounds like a full time job to me. It wouldnt be fair to leave them at home all day while you were at work and only socialize with them at night. Unless you want to make a job out of this i would start with one. If you live in NYC im pretty sure there are restrictions on how many dogs you can own
