on a happy note i have just sat down with my note book to type up a few new things i have ready.

Falling

No light avails its self to me,
Cast fast in impenetrable shadow,
The serene beauty of the night,
Is lost upon me

Tides of rising despondency,
Quenching the dim fires of hope,
Macabre thoughts are strengthened,
By the pail gloom of insignificance

A pathway appears before one’s eyes,
Entrenched in their flesh,
The target of the foul encroachment
Yet its final heading as yet unknown

Good Company

The conversation roams both far and wide,
Rights are wronged as wrongs are righted,
The world is put to rights with ease,
Until the party splits in two,
Whence two succumb to ravages of sleep,
Having reached their limits they head for bed

Two stalwarts remain,
Emboldened by the unveiling of more grog,
Over the hills and oceans the conversation once more sours,
Plummeting into the depths of each’s inner being,
Liberated by flagons of fine wine,
Tongues loosen in the presence of a true friend.

Topics long held trapped within the reaches of their minds
Given voice at that combatable table,
The thoughts that make them whole,
Explained onto another,
Received and conversed with warmth,
For that is the order of things with a friend.

Morality Protesting

Together they stand, huddled but verbose,
Appearing from afar as gentle shimmering pools,
Torchlight prevailing into the evening gloom

Alas they are not righteous, nor light,
Vestals of ancient options, dated and false,
Vomiting forth belittling lies and venomous rhetoric,
Mixing with the rain forming a sickening mire

Professing to love one’s neighbour as one’s self,
Even caveats of self loathing cannot cover their sins,
Not of misplaced faith but an affront to all mankind
All are equal in life as we are in the slow ppurification of death

To protest in public the rights of men,
It seems is not an act of ages passed,
Bigotry and self rightness linger longest,
In the closed and cloudy minds of minions

There are many minds free from restricted thought,
Willing and able to herald the change of times,
Those left behind are isolated,
Hopefully fading into vacuums nothing

Yet here today the bigots persist,
Holding vidual while there world rightly falls,
Submerged beneath the tides of change,
Hand in hand they stand in protest,
The world looks on hopefully laughing at their folly,
Standing in the winter rain
