Today I had an appointment.

A journalist woul dlike an interview. It was agreed taht he would bring no camera, but could tape our chat. We met on public ground, and the weather behaved. He was quite young, and very nervous. Had trouble getting started, obviously some kind of fear standing opposite someone from a minority like ours.
So I started to talk about some general things, while he fingered with his ballpen, got it disassembled, and had to borrow my one way pen, that cant be disassembled.
He also studied my dogs, I think he also looked for blood sigs on their genetials, buthe found none. Might he have ecspected two shy mistreaded dogs, he got massive nose kisses instead.
Then he overcame his first fear, and revealed that he was not actually a journalist, yet, but was doing his final project. Never mind, those projects get read, specially when they are good.
This fella was prepared, and the discussion wnt on. He asked about my feeling of the anti zoo folks, their arguments, and I told him how zophile networks work, specially how newbies can get advice that will prevent them from doing wrong things. That we also dislike fencehopping, what fencehopping is.
How many aspects there are of zoophilia, starting from the one who just looks a little too long at the wrong parts of a well equipped male dog, via those who seek for a sexual kick now and then, to those who live with an animal as their favourite life partner.
He asked about what kind of animals zoos preferred, and aout relations where a zoo would live with smore than one animals, if the spcial relationship to the human, would affect the interaction between the animals.
The talk got relaxed, peaple passing by would just see two men walking te beach, with two dogs playing around.
He asked if we had any associations caring about our matters. I told what troubles such associations would have, specially in places where zoophilia is illegal, but that attempts om creating such associations were misunderstood as dating services, specially by some animal lovers.
He encouraged me to go on with my idea of a zoo-soul-care telephone, being opened two hours each week, as he knew that specially elder folks would feel strange to express themselves to a keyboard, they would prefer to talk to someone instead. They will soon be able to.

All in all a meeting that went to my satisfaction, and I feel sure that the fella got something he can make a nice work on. He was a clever and emphatetic guy, and I thin, hope that his project wil give him good marks, and that it will be read.

That sounds like a very well handled interview, from your part. It is important that people of the media get a good view of how zoos are, because it is the media that will interpret everything the way they like, before they publish anything. The more people in media will be understanding of us, the less likely they are of turning zoophilia into something ugly by default, when someone abuses animals and it gets known.

As you see, I am still alive, and noone else needs to fed the dogs for me!
In fact the talk went well, and he might want another talk with me later this week, or next week. There might rise some questions, so we will do it on the phone.
When he delivers his project, it will be written in danish, but I will see if I can make a summary on it. I think the exam will be may or june, so it is far from ready yet.

It sounded like you handled it well. One more person on our side can never hurt.

and i knew you then, as i spent all of 2005 oversea on military duty and one of the placs i had wanted to vist while over there was denmark, i might have tried harder to actually carry out that plan tovist if i had even hd a clue there might have been a zoo friendly person i could meet with that couls have help show me the crountry
as i,m 3/4 dane myself by ansestery and would have loved to actuallt get to see the country my roots are in.

anyway i,m back in the u.s. now so mebe soome other yr if i ever get back over there.

i do not think the press is a good idea to tell this to. i am suspicious of that much informaton to others to get wrong, Porn and dildoging make it hard for others to think of us as loving people because of the bad pornography.

I posted this, and can hereby state that I am still alive, 4½ days after Z-day!

The journalist was working on an exam project, and for this one time in his life, he would have to act seriuos, and he did. We talked for quite some time, I woould thin an hour, and I got the chance to tell him about my opinion on bad porn. I am sure he understood the diference between animal love, and .... animal use.
There was an unecspected positive spinoff from this event, unfortunately I can not tell anything at this time. The anti-folks should not know my cards, and I have no doubt that they read forums too.

Well,, I for one, would like to read his report-when it gets translated to English. Glad it went well. We, here in the USA, have great difficulty, in getting any positive reports-since the media is more interested in BIG sales, than truth. Cow_Poke

Sounds like an interesting meeting. I definatly wouldn't mind reading that report!

As for not talking to the press; if a journalist (or in this case a student) is wanting to write an article on zoophilia, at least you can try to make him see things from a different perspective. The article could be a whole lot more negative otherwise.

i suspect that if you can not portray zoophilia in a positive light, then no one can. you would be a great zoo ambassador.

Personally I wouldn't have done it that openly, maybe on a lone field, and arriving there 30 minutes earlier to check out if there were any bad guys...

What we need is people like you, open and brave enough to give zoo a good name in public mind, and people like this reporter who is willing to listen. :beer:

I am very jaded from humans with all i see. i really want you to be succsessful and i want to read the report. i would be very intrested.

I want to belive you, i really do. but i have seen too much of media doing the wrong thing.

I will try to get hands on it when time comes.

It is an exam project, the exam will be late May or first end of June. Until that, the work may not get to public knowledge, it would disqualify it for exam use. That would be the last I want to happen.
