I just thought this would be a fun way to tell everyone why you choose the lifestyle of a love relationship with a non-human partner over one with a human...

Though we may have a human partner and love them deeply... what are your reasons for being "zoo"?

Personally there are many reasons why I would choose a non-human partner:

Non-human Animals are unconditionally loving and a general pleasure to be around.
They are more calming and affectionate. They only want your love and caring. They don't care what you are, who you are, what you look like, the things you like or dislike and they don't require or demand anything from you other than love and care.
They don't start rumors or accuse you of things, they don't force opinions on others and they are not predjudicial. They are not selfish and they don't try to change who you are or the way you think. The disease factor is very low to no risk...

To me, they are more diserving of love, compassion, and companionship than a human and they don't take you for granted.

They are beautiful beyond a doubt.

Well, that was the words I was going to say! ;)

I think it's because they are always there for you, asking just for your company and love, and something about not communicating love with words just seems to boost the intimancy. Animals are so different from us, yet we're alike in so many ways.
They also don't mind the way you look, as long as you are friendly and loving. They make you feel better when you're down and share you're enthusiasm when you're high (not drug-related  ). Also, they don't seem to show much preference to gender or anything, making them flexible lovers.

I'm not really sure what choices I've really made, actually. If I had a preference it would be a horse, and more specifically, one particular donkey. Somehow, it's very complicated, but I don't believe I had a choice, happy or not (I am), but I married a woman, it's not a sexual relationshp and never has been, and I seek a sexual relationship with one horse I own, but I don't really have that. All the decisions were made by society regarding my sexual activity. According to my wife, as her opinion presently is, she would prefer if I were to discreetly have sex with the horse, not in her site, or flamboyantly, just to get off on the horse, get him off, and go about life saving the snuggles and kisses for her. It's odd and sorted, and probably doesn't fit even here, but hey, that's how it is for me. Just right now the horse wants nothing to do with it, and I'm not going to make him. Thanks for asking though, but, no I don't think I even really have a choice in the matter really.

In my experience, animals have consistently been more honest than humans.

Plus, there's the contrast between body types. No human partner can offer a horse's neck, or a beefy dog's shoulders. And there's the feel of the coats, so much nicer than bare human skin.

And, learning to relate to another species gives you a different perspective you can't get if you live your life only among humans. Even non-zoos know that.

The reason I am a zoophiliac? I don't know. I had a great childhood with good friends and could not have asked for better parents - wouldn't change my childhood for the world. I have been with animals most of my life; since I was born. During my childhood years I probably identified with animals more than most people. Somewhere I have old 8mm and Super 8 home movies with me and the dogs. I am approximately 2-4 years old. At any rate, in much of the movies I am playing closely with the dogs, so I probably spent at least a fair amount of time with them during my infant and early childhood years especially. In my case I doubt one could point to anything traumatic in my life as causing me to become a zoophiliac.

I look at friends and family and see the people around me under the stress of human drama. I am not saying this is a major reason I favor animal companionship, but it certainly does appear to me to be a major advantage.

I have worked hard and managed my money wisely so I could realize my dream of sharing my life with animals. It's about priorities.

I am physically attracted to animals. I will adhere to the forum's rules and not mention age of course, but I will say that I have thought about animals in a sexual manner many years before losing my virginity to one. Large animals are my primary interest. I find horses, donkeys, cattle and swine for example, attractive not only because of their physical and sexual appeal, but in part because they are reasonable to be with sexually and to share my life. I say this because I find other large animals attractive as well, however it is not practical for me to share my life with them - not that I didn't try. That being said, who I find most sexually attractive are the drafts. Several years before I bought my first horse I would masturbate using pictures of horses - usually genitalia pics but not always. I picked up a magazine once and kept it for exactly that purpose because the cover featured the nice, rounded butt of a draft horse. Pics of stallion and mare genitalia got me off for many years, and still do on occasion. But the animals are here in flesh and blood now - and the number increases about every year. It is just a matter of time before I add draft horse and swine pics/movies to the group's Home-made Movies section.

Most of what I have to say could be cut and paste from Ferro's reply - so I might as well do that

I had a great childhood with good friends and could not have asked for better parents - The only thing I'd change would be more time in one location. It takes me a long time to consider a person a friend, and I don't think I've ever known someone long enough to consider going beyond "friends".

I have been with animals most of my life; since I was born. During my childhood years I probably identified with animals more than most people. My mother tells me that I learnt to stand by pulling myself up on a dog's fur. The dog from across the road was my constant companion from the time I could crawl. Maybe there's an element of imprinting at work with me?

In my case I doubt one could point to anything traumatic in my life as causing me to become a zoophiliac.

I look at friends and family and see the people around me under the stress of human drama. I am not saying this is a major reason I favor animal companionship, but it certainly does appear to me to be a major advantage. It takes me ages to relax around strange people, yet I'm immediately relaxed around strange dogs. They just decide whether they like you or not, rather than trying to judge every little aspect of your life. Luckily for me most of them like me :P

I have worked hard and managed my money wisely so I could realize my dream of sharing my life with animals. It's about priorities. My only ambition is to have my own home, enough of an income to support me and a couple of dogs, and a bit of a reserve for emergencies. I've achieved this B)

I am physically attracted to animals. I will adhere to the forum's rules and not mention age of course, but I will say that I have thought about animals in a sexual manner many years before losing my virginity to one.

Well, I have to agree with Allan and Ferro. I've always been a zoo, it just took time for me to recognize it, and then to have the courage to act upon it.

My heart has always gone out to animals. And I've always been willing to spend money to have and take good care of the pets and loving companions I've shared my life with. They never failed to return the kindness that I've shown them.

Why am I a zoo guy? Well to be honest - it's the most exciting way to get off. I haven't had too many experiences but those that I have had still get me hard today when I think back. In fact, my strongest orgasm ever was with a bitch in heat. So far nothing has come close to that feeling.

I suppose that if I wanted bitch sex all the time, I could go and get a dog for that. But how could I end up fucking my "pet" once the friendship bonds have been in place long before the heat kicks in? That's my barrier now. How do I go beyond that?

I just wish there were more stray female bitches in heat, wondering around until they stumble into my back yard. Just like it happened a few times before. Mmmm, that was SO good. No vet bills, no dog food to buy.

I'm not quite sure... I've always had an unuasual bond with animals, I've always had dogs and horses, and I even wanted to become a veteranarian at one point, but what actually made me relize what I was.... still not sure

The unconditional love a pet gives makes us feel more secure in general and causes less stress, worry, anger, etc.... but, both the physical and emotional attraction has been covered pretty well already so i wont bother rewording it :D

However, I can't help but somewhat feel like part of the emotional attraction seems like a copout.... so if you do not like to deal with the human drama or other relationship issues you just avoid it by being with an animal without trying to improve how you deal with those issues. You may still be interested in humans, just hate all the fuss. Of course there are other things people are interested in with animals, it is just this part that doesn't seem "right" to me. Heh, perhaps I am just thinking to much and this could all be chalked up to the benefits of an animal as a partner and made no sense :sorry:

For me, I'm not honestly sure why I became this way; I believe I became aware of it in the past few years, but don't really know why it happened.

I do know that I am attracted to both humans and animals, although the two are different; humans, for, I suppose, the reasons that are considered normal, and animals for the qualities that they possess in abundance...faithfulness, love, commitment...there's, as I believe others have said, a bond that can form there which is nearly impossible with another human.

So, I suppose the desire to form those bonds is what makes me this way. A desire for something I have sensed with animals that I haven't sensed with other people.
