After a short but nice talk with neece12, I now completely understand the reason for the requirement of posts in english.
In order to understand, what poeple are looking for here and to avoid unwanted (maybe illegal) conversation, the posts have to be written in a language which is understandable to the mods. No more, no less. We are not talking about angloamerican cultural dominance or anything similar! But I am really surprised, that this rule applies only to posts and not to profile information as well as signatures (especially regarding people that write a whole book in their sig). Furthermore, I regret, that the rule is not applied to many posts. there is a scandinavian (i think finnish) going on and nobody seems to care. As I said: I understand and respect the rule. May the mods apply it to EVERY post. And think about signatures as well. |

We're trying to correct ALL the threads.....as far as I can tell, the scandinavian thread is fine. When we asked that all posts be made in english, people on that thread paid attention and abided by the rules. We've only closed the threads that are in violation.
As far as people's info and signatures are concerned, we'd like to hope that if there's something inappropriate in someone's info and you notice it, you'd report it to a staffmember. |

I am English: I speak only English; though I’m learning Czech; because I too think I should learn the language of the country I live in. I am finding learning Czech enormously difficult. I have a great admiration and respect for those who can speak a second language. We English are not very good at this. B)

I can only speak two languages. English and Welsh. I will only post English in this forum as the majority of Welsh people can't speak Welsh.
