Your both very welcome. On an october evening, we were making a straw man with overalls, gloves, boots and a helmut. When we took a pic we could see in the developed pic there was a man in the window staring out. He had a beard, no one else was home at the time!

ooooooo spooky!! I love spooky stories thank you Fester for starting this thread
When I was around 15 my friends and I found the cellars underneath a block of flats in the middle of glasgow. It was only because the building was being renovated that we managed to get in there throught the ripped up floorboards. We found some 'treasure' in the form of ancient medicine bottles and decided to investigate more with the help of some light. Armed with a penlight and a candle, 4 of us went back down to investigate we found a hole in the brickwork about 2ft square leading to the next flat and in there on the opposite wall was a metal door, the kind of thing you see in submarine with the round turning handle on it. I dont remember us opening it do I presume it was unlocked and we contined through this doorway too. One the left hand side there was a set of steps leading up to a hatch in the ceiling, straight on lead deeper in to the cellars and on the right there was a very narrow passage. We chose the passage mainly because it seemed so strange the only way anyone could go down there was sideways, hardly convenience for maintainance workers. Duggie went first with the dinky torch and I followed with heather and chris right behind us, the passage wasnt very long perhaps 10 or 12 feet and opened into a dead end chamber like all the rest. Pitch black except for the tiny torch light and the candle we had a search round the walls to see if there was anything we had missed, no doorways metal or otherwise, the only way in and out of there was the passage. I dont know who first noticed it, it wasnt me, but someone said look at the floor and we did. Boy oh boy did we crap ourselves then! On the dirt floor drawn in white was a huge circle with symbols all around!!! We freaked, lol, and raced to get of there, of course the candle got blown out in the process and that sent us into panic and we screamed as we bumped and shuffled along the passage and out the way we had come. We didnt stop running until we got back to the safe have of duggies garden. At some point later we did go back, I wrote down the symbols and went to find their meaning, turns out they were simply the symbols of the zodiac, though to this day I have no idea who put them there or the purpose the place had been used for. p.s. I always wondered if anyone in the flat above (which was not being renovated) heard the disembodied screams of children on a saturday afternoon and thought they has heard ghosts  This post has been edited by shylark on Jan 1 2006, 08:57 AM |

:diablo: ............................Very Spooky Thread .................Fester3156............When i was just a lad , i stay'ed with my father and his defacto wife for a week ,while my mother was in hospital . They lived in a very large federation style house , with twelve foot ceiling's and seven bedroom's including two in the sleepout . Because of the large floorplan the house was alway's dark no matter how many light's were burning and cool , even during the heat of summer . They lived in the house with two Australian Silky Terrier's and a Siamese cat..............Anyway , i thought the house was big and dark and scary when i first seen it and i was right , on the very evening i went to bed a strange thing happen'd..............I was laying in bed and just starting to doze off , when the shape of a head and upper torso appeared at my door , thinking it was my father leaning around the door to check on me and say goodnight , i said goodnight dad i'll see you in the morning , and got no answer , all my hair stood on end and my skin goosebumped and i shot out of bed and hit the light switch , and ran down the hall to meet my father coming out of the lounge room to investigate what was going on, because the dog's were standing growling at something in the hall way and the cat was standing there with all it's hair stuck up .................I fairly pissed my pant's with fright , and i turned every light in the house on, and me and my father checked every room , door , and window in the house, but they were all locked and secure . And for the next six day's i stayed with them i slept on the sofa at the foot of my father's bed every night............We later learn'ed from the people next door that the previous owner had hanged himself in the hallway on the decorative entry trellis , and when we climbed up a ladder you could see where a rope had left an impression in the timber.............I don't know if this was related to what i experienced , but it was a cold creepy house with some odd thing's happening while my father lived there........And i never stayed with them again while they lived in that house, just visiting them was enough for me....................I don't believe in ghost's , but i keep an open mind on these matter's..............As my Father used to say , don't be scared and spend your time worrying about dead people , it's the live one's who will do you the most harm......................... :drinks: ............................. :diablo:

Ok here's my true one.
Many moons ago I lived in a large isolated house in the Welsh hills. At that time, we had a border collie dog. One afternoon I was sitting in the garden contemplating my navel when I heard my son shouting at the dog, telling him to go downstairs. As Alfie, the hound in question was sitting by my side, I thought I had better go see what was going on. Had one of the neighbouring farm dogs got into the house? No, all the doors were shut. So, in I went and asked my lad what on earth he was shouting about. His answer was that Alfie knew that he was not allowed upstairs and when he heard scratching at his bedroom door he opened it to see Alfie sitting there wagging his tail. So he shouted at him to go downstairs. I then told him that the dog had been with me in the garden and he got quite upset thinking that I thought he had imagined it. I told him not to be silly and went back outside. Around 5 0'clock my wife returned from work having been given a lift back by a new work colleague who, oddly enough had spent her childhood in the very house that we were now living in. The next day, my wife brought home some old pictures of the house taken by her new friend when she was a girl. There was Alfie's double! Right in the middle of one of the pics! When my son saw it he thought that I was trying to play a trick on him with a fake pic. That was the dog that he had shouted at! The pic was 32 years old. WEIRD! |
