Dr Kaninov, posted a quote by A.de la Martinne, as part of here/his post of October13,2005, which says one has to make a Choice to either love a Human or an Animal. I cant agree :sorry:
I love my Buddy[a man] with all my heart  , I would die for him, but i would love my dog just as much........am i weird?
wonder what other members opinion are.......are there others who think like me?...Now how do i send this :(

I make no differentiation between a human and a animal. In my eyes my dogs and cats are little people, they just have to communicate differently.

If a person can choose different people to be in love with then people can choose different human and animal friends to love.

"we cannot have a heart for animals and another for humans, either we have one or none at all" Alphonse de La Martinne

this is the actual quote that is being used.. for me this says that you either have a heart .. or you dont.. it isnt about the difference between how you love your animals and how you love people...

I went and looked for it so I could understand your question... the quote isnt asking for a choice it is stating a fact

Love is love is love is love, whether for an animal, a human, a friend, a lover, a child or a parent. The manners of expression differ, but love does not.

I strongly doubt that anyone would force you to make a choice. Some may be so scarred that they believe that they cannot love a human -- so be it, but that's still a choice that they've made.

In the end, after all the shouting, love is love.

Allbeit, I've had only one gf and am a virgin to both animal and human I love both equally. There is no distinction for me. My cats are my sisters and jerk brother :D . I love my family and friends the same way as my cats becuase they are family.

I agree with atomx, love is love.

I'd take a dolphin as a lover anyday ;)

But, since about 1 in every 100,000 Delphinic Zoophile actually gets anywhere, I'll settle for my girlfriend too (who is also a DZ!)

Sasha, anyone who'd tell you you have to make a choice between loving humans and loving animals probably has issues that they need to work out with their therapist.

Of course, some humans will not share their lover, and this might carry over to animals too. Simply put, I think that if a couple is married or involved and one of the couple is having sex with an animal, that's cheating just as much as if they were having sex with another human. It has nothing to do with being anti-zoo, and everything to do with the definition of cheating. If I caught my girlfriend having sex with a dog without telling me, I'd be very angry -- not because she was having sex with a dog, but because she was lying to me (through omission -- through not telling me about her other sex partner).

If this isn't what you were asking about -- if someone literally claimed you could only love one or the other, I'll go back to my previous point: they have issues.

Love who you Love. If you have a man who accepts your dog and you then you are lucky as anything and the object of envy. Why just have cake when you can have ice cream too.

Opinions are like anal orafices, everyone has one and they all stink. Follow your feelings, not the opinions of others unless you agree with them.

To me, there are many shades of love. Love for your family, spouse, Gf, animals, favorite desert, car, truck, home, a good book, a good movie, etc. etc. etc., all are loves to various degrees. When it comes to, say, a woman loving two men, or perhaps a woman loving a husband and an animal, I think she can love the two equally--IF, and this is a big IF, there is no jealousy. However, if your husband is jealous and can't stand you making love to your dog, then I guess whether you like it or not, you would have to choose one or the other. I don't think there would be any difference if you were jealous of your husband making love to another woman and insisted he choose you or her. Don't know if this helps.
