I have just looked an there are 5 PAGES of "downloading" threads -in this section alone :pinch:
I will go lock them after I finish creating this thread :ruck: :ruck: :ruck: I strongly suggest that you use the search feature if your have any questions concerning downloading -there can't possibly be one issue that isn't already addressed in forum threads.... however - I just KNOW that there are some of you who will not do so... so here it is: ONE THREAD FOR ALL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS CONCERNING DOWLOADING. NO ONE is to start any other thread -this will be thee ONLY thread for ANYTHING concerning downloading... Feel free to post any questions or concerns you have here about downloading -and even though it's already covered -valued members please link to -or provide answers here again -for the last time... A SPECIAL NOTE HERE TO DEERHUNTER SHARP AND TRAPS AND ANY OTHER MEMBER WHO HAS SPENT COUNTLESS HOURS HELPING PEOPLE WITH THESE ISSUES - YOUR WORK IS SOOOOO APPRECIATED -AND HOPEFULLY THIS WILL MINIMALIZE HOW MANY TIME YOU HAVE TO ADDRESS THESE SAME ISSUES OVER AND OVER AGAIN... FEEL FREE TO ADD ANY LINKS TO CODACS AND ANY OTHER PREVIOUS POST YOU THINK WILL BE ESSENTIAL TO THE THREAD - THANX AGAIN GUYZ - YOUR ACES!!! :friends: |

Forgive my ignorance,I have no clue about getting around on the board,so I'm kind of stumbling here, and making mistakes, and getting yelled at by some of the not so nice mods and members. When you are new it is somehow viewed as a fault here for some reason.I am a human, and I therefore make mistakes.A kind word goes much farther than mocking someone for an error.Does anyone have any interest in helping? I am unable to download any jpegs anymore, all of a sudden. All are appearing as bmp's,and I don't know what to do about it.Yes,I am an idiot on the computer.I am in the process of learning.Sorry I did not pop from the womb with all this knowledge. Can someone PLEASE help me? Is kindness available here,or only anger, and mockery? I have much new material to share that I recently aquired, but I am seriously debating whether to stay here.I hope this is the correct place for this problem,if not I suppose I will get dumped on again, but oh well. Damon

You could have solved your problem by simply googleing for "pics only saving as bmp" but here is the solution:

As per SouthFloridas request that I post here concerning download questions, ok, here goes. I'm running Ubuntu Linux on my computer, not windows. Pretty much every Windows based .WMV file is not something that I'm going to be able to download and view...much to my distress. the two main viewers I've got on this OS install is Xine and Totem. I believe that Totem is the default.
Are there codecs and/or any other utility that I can download onto my system that will enable me to view these wonderful files, please? Thanks all for your kindly words of wisdom and advice. And thank you SouthFlorida for pointing me in this direction. Kind regards, Austxk9bear |

HI there...I've looked all over for an answer to this question, as well as did a searxh, so i hop ethere isn't a duplicate thread anywhere......
I just recently bought a VIP membership and I was just wondering if the site supports download managers? I have tried using Getright and DAP but they don't seem to work (I can only download 2 files at a time through Windows XP) Thanks and have cool day! regards J |

Maybe this will help.. I'm completly ignorant about Linux os (wish I wasn't) but this is what i came up with, Chack it out and make your own judgment. It covers many difrent Linux versions... http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ Should this not solve your problem then I suggest that you visit a Forum called "Talkingsoft.com" This is a forum where many Software divelopers/testers share information and have been very helpfull in the past.. deerhunter |
