Having a problem downloading pics..

I can usually only grab one pic successfully, but when I try to do more than that, the pic ends up being saved incorrectly. For example, the first pic may save fine, but anything after that saves as exactly the same size..17.2k.. regardless of what the actual picture size is..

I don't seem to have the same download problem on other sites, so I am not sure what is causing the problem here. I thought it might be certain threads, so I am checking as many as I can to see if I get the same download problem.

I know that when I click on a pic that I want, it opens into a new tab, and I try to "save image as.." since I am using Firefox.. but as I say, not every pic I grab seems to save properly?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

I'm not sure what your problem could be.

I normally use IE7 but switched to FireFox to see if I could duplicate what you said but was unable to.

I do know that there was a couple of threads in the Female home made forum where the images did not upload properly but those images have since been swapped with properly uploaded files.

I just downloaded 3 files following the same proceduer you described. 1) 420kb.. 2) 906kb.. 3) 1.5mb

If you have a problem please copy the link to the problem file so I can investigate.

OK, I can make the same thing happen if I do it like you say, and I'm using Safari on Mac.
The first one is 80K (full size) and the same or different pic done after that is 20K.

I am not a software person, so I can't explain it, but I can tell you how to work around it:
Left click on the thumbnail so the picture appears normal size.
Drag the pic off of the Forum window onto your desktop (with the cursor).
An icon of the pic with the normal file size will be on your desktop--do what you want with it. (Document folder, whatever.)

:D

Ok to answer a couple of question..

No, I am not using a Mac.. using a Windows Vista based pc ..

I normally grab pics from the furries section, but when I first noticed the problem I was trying to get pics out of the General Forum /Transsexual Beauties thread..

The odd part is that some pics that I was unable to get before I was able to get later.. it seems to be a hit or miss deal now with my downloads...

It might be something as simple as a flaky connection on my part, but I thought I'd post here to see if anyone else ran into the same problem..

I also wonder if it has anything to do with my download credits.. I do notice that when I have problems with getting a file that my credits don't decrease.. they only go down when I successfully download a file..

I do thank you for getting back to me on this.. Neadernitz, I will give what you suggested a try as well and see what happens

I tried the drag to desktop that was suggested, but all that I get on my desktop is a file of 0 bytes called index..

I was trying different threads and areas, and while some pics work fine, others I have the same problem..

I'll just keep experimenting and see what I can find..

Thanks again!

OK, I was DL from my own thread in Mating, because I know how they are supposed to look.

Just now,I tried in furry, and found this: Missywolf's art DL's fine by dragging, but comics will give you "index" , and when you open "Index" to try to view, it is the "You have to log in to use this feature" window. Happens every time on the comic threads I tried. (Obviously, I am logged in already, and still am when I leave that thread.)

Very odd.... ;)

I think I have it sorted out (mostly)..

As long as I only try to save one pic at a time, it seems to work..makes it a bit slower, but that is ok..

Alright, sorry if this has been answered already (50 pages is a bit more than I'd care to scrutinize), but what exactly qualifies as a "contribution"? I've uploaded several pictures, but I still have no download credits. Do the pictures/movies have to be uploaded in certain sections to count toward credits?
