The first clip of a hjsplit movie will sometimes d/l as a playable movie rather than as a file .001... If the file extencion looks like this .mpg.mpg then it must be renamed to look like this .mpg.001 Removeing the seccond mpg and replaceing it with 001.

If the file extencion isn't completly revealed then you need to change your settings. Follow the instructions below if you don't know how.

seems to me that a common mistake people make when trying to view a movie is not joining the actual movie together...

see .. on this forum ... you can not upload a file over the size of 9.77 MB .. so many people choose to seperate their movie clip into a few different sections... a popular one amongst most our users is HJ Split (<------ click there to read the thread about HJ Split .. and how it works)

first thing you need to do... is make sure you have downloaded ALL the sections of the movie... if you are even missing one the file will not work once it is joined ...

2nd... join all the sections... after doing this you should have NO problems viewing movies

another common problem is how you download...

when you decide you want to download a movie or picture.. make sure you are doing a right click and then save as... I have a special folder all my split files go in ... so it is easier for me to join :)

I need help please!!! I have searched the forum, Microsoft, and Caledonian, but to no avail. I cannot download the weekly movies. Media Playere keeps saying my supplied certificate is invalid. I have WMP 9.0, I have an elite membership, and I try to view the movies as soon as I download them. I follow the directions in the private messages, but I must be doing something wrong. Please help!

Maybe u need to d/l the player nine codecs pack.. drm's can be a bit tricky and don't play in all players unless they have the latest codecs pack

If that fails send an email to dataworld explaining fully your problem.

Hi everyone!
I've got a Major Prolem with the HJ-Splitfile!!!
-I Download the Files in a row
-I rename every file as advised in mpg.001 and so on
-I even tried 001 or 001 split file...
-I have all the files in the same Directory
The PROBLEM begins right now 'cause when I open The HJ program and click on JOIN and open the directory with the downloaded files I cannot find them means the program doesn't show them to click them and join?????But when I open the directory outside the HJ the files are there and the ending is as renamed 001 or .001 and so on 002,003...
I tried to rename the files or to download in another directory but nothing seems to work out!!???
What do I do wrong??Any help please.

The first file should look like this "?????.mpg.001. The mpg is just an example. you must use what ever codec it was origanly set at (.AVI, .mpg, .wmv) then add .001
If the file looks like this ".mpg.mpg" then you must change the seccond .mpg too .001 I can assure you that hjsplit/join will see this configuration, But will only see the .001 and not the file .002 ect. To join all you have to do is brouse for the folder and click on .001 the compleet set of files will now be joined.

Thanks Deerhunter but as i said thats exactly what i've already done but it didn't work out.It doesn't matter if i rename it .001 or mpg(avi.,wmv.,etc).001 when i open HJ to join the file it does not show me the file it just does not appear!???

I am a little confused on one thing ... why do you have to change the name ... I have downloaded a few of the clips .. and joined them.. no problems .. and never had to change a name...

Some of the files when d/loaded to your pc will show a file ext of.mpg.mpg This is a playable movie file and the seccond .mpg must be changed to read .001 This is called "Re-nameing"... It is never necessary to change the Title (name) only the ext.
