Just finished 20 years in the Forces, kept talking myself out of living out and getting a dog because I knew I could be deployed with little or no notice. With most of my friends being in the same unit I would have to surrender the dog (probably to be destroyed :o ) or at best dump it on someone while I missed a big chunk of it's life :( .

Now I've packed it in I have 1/2 an acre in a small country town, 2 dogs, and my own income (not unemployment) I'm ready to start living!

But is 2 enough?

I may get itchy feet and move to an area where I can have more than 2 dogs but that won't be for at least a couple of years. It'd be nice to have enough land that I could let the girls bark when they play and not worry about the neighbours complaining :P
