As you know, my mentor is a bear. One time he was teaching me to shoot. I had bought a .44 Colt and decided I was hopeless as an Annie Oakley. I mentioned it to him, and he took me back to the store and we exchanged it for a .357 S/W Python with a modified long barrel. Then we went up to the Boundary Waters area, N of Ely MN, USA. Very lonesome, and he taught me to shoot. The next morning, before we left, we packed up the camp and I went out to the bushes for a necessary. As I got up, I saw a wolf trot out onto a flat rock about 150 yards away. He saw me about as soon as I saw him, and we just looked at each other. Then 2 females appeared behind him. Eventually, he humped his back and took a dump. Then he backed up, smelled it and rolled his eyes up looking at me. I could swear he was smiling. He clamly walked on. Each of the females came up in turn, sniffed the poop, looked at me and then continued.
What could I do? I mooned them. Heinrich, my bear friend came crashing thru the bushes and asked what the heck I was doing. I told him of my wolfish conversation. He looked in the direction I was pointing, squinted and said, Yeah! Well . . . |
