Back in 1994 there was a book published titled Pluto, Animal Lover: A Novel. Naturally with a title like that I had to pick it up, expecting a novel about the things we hold so dear. All I can say is this is not a book you want in your collection. It has very little to do with loving animals, quite the opposite. It's the story of a young mentally unstable man who falls for a young woman. But, if anyone is curious you can pick up a copy here:

There's an old, but reliable list from the alt.sex.bestiality group available at: http://unicorn.wereanimal.net/Beast/Histor...o_Bibliotek.txt (But then as an original contributor to that list many years ago I'm biased :) ) |

Add to the list: Understanding Bestaility and zoophilia by Hani Miletski PhD (2002) ISBN: 0971691703. self published. There is also a section in a book called "Dog love" by Marjorie Garb. |

But of course don't forget the oldie but goldie "The Horseman, obsesions of a zoophile" by Mark Mathews. A fair but educational little book!

Two of my favorites: "Dearest Pet" by Midas Dekkers, and "Bestiality: An Historical, Medical, Legal and Literary Study" by Dubois-Desalle. The latter once was available only from the Library of Congress, published 1939 I think. Both these books are currently available at Amazon. They are both serious books.

I can vouch for Dog Love by Majorie Garber. I loved the book...all the chapters. Midas Dekker's Dearest Pet is also a great read allbeit a little more on the informative side (it's a translation from dutch I think). He adds a little zeal to it but it is a historical documentation of bestiality with a few chapters analyzing it for what it is and how society percieves the act. Both of the books I read in a coffee shop in a somewhat misguided attempt to lure other zoos......do not pass go, do not collect $200 :(
edit: I've never read hossey's obsessions of a zoophile. Don't really want to. I've heard that it's a little one sided and sefl absorbed....a bit pricey to boot. I'll save my money for something a little less convoluted (like a subscription to GQ :D ) This post has been edited by Shane J on Aug 8 2005, 07:08 PM |

Wow! I just found this. its been collecting dust since early august of last year.
I wonder if its PINNABLE? A nice list of Book References would seem a wonderful thing to have more handy... NANU NANU!! This is Mork from Ork calling Ork! (Planet of the Moderators) Would this be an alright thing to consider pinning? A lot of people have been mentioning different books and other works on Zoo/beast topics. SD PS Boy do I hope the moderators remember or know the show "Mork and Mindy"! Do you mean ones ABOUT zoophilia or ones with zoophilia content in them?
I suggest reading Wet Goddess if you want one with zoophilia in it. ;) |

I for one would appreciate an updated list of books regarding the topic of zoophilia - not ones in which it is occuring as a sideline of some plot. The one I have heard of before and was mentioned earlier is "Dearest Pet" (forget the author.. see a few prior posts). Another bump bump. Huggles  |

Must have been sleeping, and didn't see this post. -_-
I have a good small book. It pretty hard to find. This one is the only copy that I was able to find in a long time. 218 pages. Called the Beast Seekers, by H.L Bagley, Ph.D. Case Histories of Savage, Devient Lust! Has Chapters, The Animal Lovers and Their Dogs, The Animals They Ride, Their Bovines, Their Sheep and Goats, Bizarre Acts with Insects and REptiles, Monkeys and Baboons as Sex Partners, The Penalties of Bestiality, and The Anaimal Lovers Club. |

The only zoophilia book I have in my bookshelf is "Understanding Bestaility and Zoophilia" by Hani Miletski.
It is a great book, and I can certainly recommend it to everyone. Buy it from her website! :) She's a good non-zoo person who has done a lot of good for the sake of zoophiles all over the world. To support her by buying her book is one way of saying thank you, for the hard work she has put down to help us. |
