Hrm.. I'd be interested in getting a veterinarian's opinion (if any would come forward here). Since cattle especially are known for a toxic strain of E. Coli, is this really safe? Or are the microbes specifically confined to one part of their digestive tract?

Other herbivores may be ok, but I'd be leery of any ruminants, since they need some extra-powerful gut busters to survive. I'd even be concerned about kissing with them, without knowing just which part of their system to watch out for.

So is that just being over-paranoid (and, admittedly overstressing cleanliness), or is there a potential hazard? Or is it more like Salmonella, where you don't have a problem unless you're going someplace their immune system doesn't keep the microbe levels in check?
