QUOTE
Would a program to translate and encode this be helpful to anyone?

I have already started work in VB .NET, to make a GUI interface type one, and once that's done, I'll be releasing the files for it... including all source code, for others to enhance, as they want.

I'm going to get the encoder working... I'm not completely sure on how to make it automatically decode it... If someone knows how to do it, let me know (pretty please).

It may take me some time, since I'm just learning the programming language, but it'll give me some good experiance.

The codes that I'm using is at http://www.tigress.com/black/showtext.php/2

If someone wants to give me a hand, send me a message.

Ah, I was thinking starting one using Delphi7. I might still be able to help out though. I'm sure something could be written easily enough.

Originaly someone was going to create a translator or creator for us, but it never happend.

Around that same time the whole Zoobuster thing occured, and just slightly before that I'd stoped working on Zoocode as I did not agree with the direction Actaeon was taking it. But the main point is the comunity, as it stood at that time, began to fall apart.

However, I know that at least 1 'translator' engine was suposed to have been invented for converting it to German. Now if they were just translating the page, or actually makeing a 'reader' I don't recall. Hell this was all a long time ago folks.

Hehe on the plus side it's fun to see an interest in the code again. I may go through and revise it again.

So cheers and watch this space! heh

To everyone who has considered working on code generators and parsers... have you considered translating the zoo/fur/yiff codes into XML tags?

That way not only could you come up with easy translators, sites could very readily integrate search options and other features? Just a thought.

Either way, how wonderful that you're working on this to the benefit of everyone!!

I've begun work on a ZooCode creator in PHP. If anyone is interested in hosting it, feel free to PM me. I don't know when it'll be completed for sure, but I will write a translator as well.
