To answer the question ....... I had no idea there was a name for any of this or that people engaged in sexual activity with animals when my interest was first awakened some 15 years ago ........ (to save anyone checking my profile and doing the figures I hit 40 just before Christmas) :)

It took me a long time to find out more about it ...... make that dream a reality .... and once I did ...... I loved it and knew I wanted more and would do it again.

So for me it was definitely afterwards ...... although I always loved dogs and we had always them growing up ........ sex with them was not something I was even aware was possible at the time ...

I've not had an animal yet but remembering all the pets in my family over the years, it's difficult to think of life without a dog by my side or laid out on front of a warm coal fire their legs kicking as they dream of whatever dogs dream of, life would be boring without them.

Hm, well I've never had sex with an animal (including humans). I'm not really sure what the definition for zoophile is. If that's someone who prefers non-humans over humans, probably not. If it includes someone with any erotic response whatsoever to a nonhuman, I find it hard to believe that any human would not be included, because operating on the smallest degree, humans will even have erotic responses to blankets or trees, much less another living organism.

Maybe it means someone who is accepting of viewing non-humans in an erotic manner? I am not universally accepting because some animals I don't think are attractive at all, actually that applies to the majority of them.

In terms of opening up beyond humans, for the most part I don't except when they are anthropomorphized via fictional cartoon art ("furry"). In terms of real life, I tend to be more interested in female humans' various adventures into this. They are generally more emotional beings and I marvel how they are able to bond like that when I have trouble with the concept.

The rare fics out there about dolphins sort of moved me though, that sort of got a response out of me. I don't really respond to dogs/equines like is popular around here. The idea of a lioness is sort of cool though, I like how they are so GIANT and how at the slightest displeasure they could tear me limb from limb and eat me. I don't know if that's potentially masochistic in nature? Similarly enough a dolphin could drown you if they didn't like something...

I guess i just like something like that with large mammals who are in a position of power, because then there is less worry about things like consent or domination or anything like that. Maybe the fear is a stimulant? They are very powerful creatures, and you know so little about them.

In a way I feel sympathy for the females of those species too. It makes me sad when I read articles about dolphins getting raped by other dolphins, or how they are getting fished in Japan. Lionesses do all the work for male lions, and males have barbaric spikey things which look like they hurt. I read this comic book called "Pride of Baghdad" which I liked both the females in too, very good comic.

Before, I have not yet had any sexual activity with an animal. I got introduced to it three months ago when I was staying with a very good friend of mine at her farm.
She held a party one night when I was still staying there, she invited a few friends over,
we had a good party and we all got a bit tipsy by the time the party cleared up. After everyone was gone, around 3 in the morning, I went to bed but saw her heading the wrong way...
