Well... What to the zoos (the anima lovers do)? They enjoy their thing...
They love the animals (and that wonderful creatures love them back, right?).
So, that's all - love... You give your animal friend a pleasure, and he / she
gives you back, right? It's simple.. So - why is that thing illegall - forbidden -
strange - wierd - unnormall???
(OK, I've never tried it for now, but I want to... So, I'm a 'future' zoo with a
strong (not strange!) wish do do it...). If I had chance... Oh...!)
So, it's normal to keep an animal in he cage and other horrible
things... but to love them - it's sick??? Why???
There are different kind of love, right - lots of people love animals as a pet,
and others love them more deeply, sexualy, right?
People who are agiants animal love don't know a thing?
They should try it first and then decide!
Can you forbid love?
You can't!

Le it be...

You see, to many people still dont see animals as living beings with feelings and emotions. To to many people animals are just "things"!
You can allready see it in our language a animal is allways "it" A male dog, "it"...
I stopped calling animals it at school, to me a animal is either he or she - no and never it!
IMHO many people dont understand why we want to love and have sex with a lower being! They cant understand why we would rather prefer to sleep with a "lower" dog then with a "equal" human... And because they cant understand it they fear it and what mankind fears needs to be damned and banished!
And as long as humanity cant accept that every living being on this planet is equal to each other - no matter if worm or human, no matter if mouse or Elephant, we are all equal only our apeareance seperates us! - there is only a slight hope left that we might get accepted...

You know, its easy to put a 'thing' without feelings or emotions into a cage, then a living being that feels the same like you!

In discussions elsewhere the main themes of objection are:
1) Religion: we humans are in God's image and animals are soulless beasts and under the sway of the Devil. We violate god's laws of separation and dominion. Animals are things to be used for human purposes and have no feelings or minds. At best they are "other".
2) Bestiality is equal to child abuse: You just take advantage of a weaker mind and get your jollies from having power and control over another creature. Animals can't make choices and can't understand consequences. Even if they can consent, you're still having involunary sex with mentally handicapped individuals that can't make their own choices and need to be protected.
3) Evolution/ creation/ etc has produced distinct species and it is right to mate with your own species and if you can't tell yours from another, there must be something seriously wrong with you. Worse still if you make a conscious choice! Somethings are okay - but just like [CENSOR] there are things which just aren't natural - and bestiality is one.

Of course we know animals can and do consent, they are other nations and not our children, and the only time there is concern about animals making choices or the undue influence and power humans have over them is when someone is having sex with them. We also know animals are friends, family and bound to us emotionally - we and they are imprinted and we see eachother as part of our packs, herds, pods and lives.

What other objections have you heard?

very good point to bring up

hmmm and here i thought i could make a great exposay
only to see others beat me to the draw)))))
allthis points are reason we so called supiour humans have come up with
its a pity we brainwashed ourselfs into beliving it

any person who has a stronger bond wit animals than with humans is considered
odd, weird, or sick and this donst mean they have sexual relations with aminals either

if one looks at definnisions a zooaphilia can and a deep emontional or mental love
or apathy with aminals and ot be sexually involed or even attracted to them

and a zoosexual can or might

somewere in all cultures there seems to be a fear of those different than us. its bad enough when its other human cultures or races or customs and bring in a different specises and human brains go into overload

tome its not a big deal i ave a deep and strong love and attraction to and with aminals and the fact sex is sometimes part of it is as natual to me as the need to breath

my own personal beliefs tell me aminals are as special as i am to my maker

and they have their own unigue place in the order of things
i feel we,ve refused to see it that way cause we as humans think to highly of ourselfs

iliketo01, you have a great point, and a shame things don't work that way, if they did things would alot better for us. Look at the zoos, keeping animals in a cage and charge humans to come visit them. They would not pay to see me in a cage with an animal, and mating with it. Know some will pay, but not many.

I am the one that won’t pay for such a thing. I won’t get there even if I had been given money to do it. I do not like zoos and I do not like circus. People tend not to put in animal's shoes, so to say, to feel how it is…

I'm sorry to say but it's a No Win situation. Many of the animals in zoos are almost extinct in the wild and in order to keep them from disappearing altogether we need to cage them. I work with a zoo that like many treat them with care and in a near natural state with hopes of returning a few to the wild. But unless the public gets a change to come and view them on display there will be no money for their care. :(

I can understand keeping animals in zoos only if it is to help endangered species reproduce and survive.. I live in a fairly rural area and I'll admit that when I get e new animal i keep it chained outside for two days to set it in their mind that this place is home.. After that they are free to run the land. i don't "love" my animals like some "love" theirs, but i do form strong bonds and try to let them be free.

You've definitely got some good points..

I do like zoos, however.
Not the old fashioned tiny cages horrible conditions, but I believe nowadays most all zoos aren't like that.
My home zoo (the Minnesota Zoo) is amazing. They've got tons of animals, tons of room and are working on conservation and breeding of rare species. I believe that zoos are a great way for people who wouldn't otherwise be able to see these animals get to know what else we share our world with.
People see these creatures, learn that their habitat is being destroyed, and they want to help. Kids learn all sorts of things and with the zoos and what they teach hopefully it will cause the younger generations to push for more animal conservation and all that.
