Imagine if, Science were able to genetically modify your DNA, blaady bla <science bit here>. So that you could essentially become anthropomorphised (a furry) OR so that you could have certain animal characteristics (eyesight, smell etc.) Presuming the process is irreversible, Would you wan't it?

Now i know this has been asked of genitals before and feel free to mention that if you see fit but I'm talking about being able to pick and choose a mid-ground between an animal and a human. You WOULD then have to go on living a life in society as it is today. Do you think much of society would have a go? I reckon it wouldn't be just zoo's would see an attraction in this. It would be an extreme of body modification. In application (more for the furries here) you could essentailly become your favorite furry character in a physical sense, down to picking colouration of your fur and everything.

What I'm asking is would you go through the process, irrelevant of monetary cost, And would you do so in our current societey.

Ok see I don't think i'd be the first to sign up, but as soon as someone else had, i'd be there, would love to - i despise society as it is and don't fear it's judgement or beingostracised from it if that be the reprecussions of this (think how popular i'd be with zoo's!). for me I'd become an anthro wolf or fox, something like that. How far into animalness would i go? I'd have hands, not paws, i'd change my genetailia too, umm muzzle but eyes somewhere between an animals and a humans, normal vision - along those lines. I'd love to see a future where the tech becomes fashionable, mainstream. Where Every 5th person or so has had at least some subtle modification. :ruck:


Anyway maybe that's a bit off the wall, Thanks for reading. I'm still a bit :wacko: on the idea's and I'd love to hear what anyone has to say on the matter. If you'd want to let us know why?, what would you become? and How much animal would you have in the equation? If not then why not? :D ;) ^_^

Well, considering I already wear a tail on a fairly every day basis, and I'm not accepted for it, you BET I'd get a real one! I wouldn't mind the eyes either, but the sense of smell might get tiring. If Z could also...*cough* modify one certain part to be more animal like I would be one happy camper. :blush:

Nope, not a plug. It's an actual coyote tail nowadays, thought sometimes fox. LOVE to get my hands on a mountain lion tail...I get them from one individual trapper though, who doesn't skin while alive, so eh, probably won't happen. I'm picky as to my sources.

I just safety pin it onto my belt loop. People on campus are pretty used to it now. about 15 others do it now too.

Oh yeah! If I could have my cock modified to have a knot at the base, I'd definitely do that. No hesitation. Hell, I'd do it even if it meant I'd lose an inch or two of length. ...so you know I'm serious. :lol:

Ears and tails look interesting and sound fun, but it would be a a real hassle in any practical sense. You'd need special pants to deal with the tail, the ears would stand out too much for my taste... maybe if it was common enough I could still blend in - and find clothes that fit. Maybe. :thinking:

I doubt it's the social implications that would stop most people from an incredible procedure like this. Especially in a society so immersed in tattoos, body piercings, X-men and the occult (vampires, etc), I don't think it would take long to become mainstream... if it was safe, and had little side-effects.

There are so many anthro drawings out there I'd love to be like, and I do enjoy the full bred anthro art better than the neko mimi style. Call me unoriginal, but I think my fursona would be canine-like. Loyal, beautiful, but fierce when needed.

Dragons would be cool too, but I don't think I'd like the scales. Smooth and leatherly reptilian skin too wouldn't seem like a nice fit for me either (current skin excluded ;) ).

Well, I just saw this and had to put my 1.5 cents in (not enough to make a full 2 cents lol)

First, I should point out that one would have to remember that not all animal senses are better than their human equivalent. A wolf's sight, for example is mostly color-blind (not completely, I believe they can see red and yellow, maybe a bit more, I'd have to dig up my old research for sure) and they are somewhat near sighted. If I remember correctly, I believe that scientists tested several wolves and found that they could effectivly only see about a hundred yards.

Second, for those of you wanting to get muzzles and such, you must realize that that would seriously impact your speech patterns. Yes, vocal chords play a lot into the formation of speech, but not nearly as much as tongue, jaw, and lip movement/position does. Effectivly, I would think you would have to relearn how to speak if it were even possible.

Third, Adding things like tails, ears on the top of the head, retractable claws, etc, would require additional muscles that the human brain has never had to even think about controling. I can honestly say that we have no idea how the brain would handle it. Think about all the millions of signals that must be sent simply to walk (as a "normal" human) a few yards. Now, add the counter balance of a tail, or the foot formation of a digitigrade foot (plus, think of the kind of shoes you'd have to get), or the movement of the ear canal towards the top of the head. Yikes......

Also, one might want to remember, adding things like a "super" sense of smell, could be overwhelming, or even crippling. Imagine you live in the rural country side and decide to get a canine sense of smell. Then, one day you visit the city. You would be assaulted with millions of smells that your brain has no idea how to classify. Having not grown up with your enhanced sense, you have no barrier or tolerance to the intricies (sp) you would face. If you've ever seen the episode of Spongebob where Patrick finally gets a nose, it would be similar to that.

Now, all that being said, I honestly think, (as long as I had the acceptance of those I care about) that I would recieve at least some modification. I would not, however be one of the first to sign up. I would wait till they had the initial bugs ironed out. But, I don't think I would do anything MAJORLY changing, as in all honesty, I'm ok with who I am, and as it is, my brain is messed up enough without adding in any additional complexity.

Well, I would like the physical strength and agility of a wildcat. I would love to be able to scale a tree in nothing flat, and to jump 6 feet vertically. I wouldn't mind retractable claws, either. I would keep everything about my appearance just as-is, so nobody would suspect a thing. I wouldn't use these abilities in public unless to save someone's life, or my own. They would be for my own personal use.

Funny that I want to be like a cat, but am much more into dogs. I guess they were right about my spiritual guardian, though. It's a bobcat.
