*Dexter walked at a good pace with the aid of his walking stick. Guided by the scent of the wolves and the burning embers of their fire. The going was fairly easy, but he had a feeling that wouldn't last forever. He also had the feeling that maybe, just maybe he was being followed. Every once and a while he would hear a twig snap, or some leaves crunch underfoot causing him to stop and look back. He never seemed to catch site of anyone.
*After a while he came to a tree bearing fruit that seemed a cross between an apple and a pear. He had seen them before along the river and found them quite good. He picked quite a few, then sat down to eat. After munching a couple he took one and tossed it gently into the bushes. Here. *He said with a laugh You might be hungry as well. *He added as he tossed a few more in the general direction of the first one. He still wasn't sure if anyone was out there, but it amused him to think there was. |

Tala continued watching and following the bull as he moved through the woods, also smelling the fire and other scents of creatures. But she wasn't sure who he was. And considering that the bull may have figured he was being followed, she slowly moves over to pick up one of the pieces of fruit that was thrown in her direction. Though, the fruit didn't really look like something she'd seen before. She slowly ate at it before turning towards the bull.
"Who are you?" She said simply. She approached slowly and with caution, but she figured that the creature didn't appear to be immediately aggressive or anything like that. "Where is this place?" |

*He didn't immediately look up when he heard the soft voice. Instead he simply swallowed his last bite of fruit before answering.
I'm Dexter. *He said simply though his voice had a touch of mirth to it. I'm not sure where we are, I suppose my friends do though, they dropped me off here a few weeks back as a joke. *He turned then and took in the sight of the wolf before him. By her dress she was most certainly female. You wouldn't mind telling me your name, or how long you've been trailing me would you ? *He asked with a smile |

(OOC--i would like it if every one could trie and post at least once a day or once every other day at minimum that way we can keep this thead from dieing of the way many others have. i do understand that RL gets in the way of our fun sometimes. i would just hate for this thread to fade away before it gets a chance to realy get started )

Don't worry lass, I'll not harm ya. I only hope you'll be doing me no harm as well.
*Dexter continued as he watched the rather fetching wolf as he waited for her to speak. Though more feral looking then the wolves he was used to seeing back home she still had a certain charm about her. Her manner of dress left little to his imagination and seemed at odds with her being in the woods. Though he was aware of a large sword like weapon on her person. He hoped she might join him on his journey even if she was as lost as he was. He had a feeling that they'd both be better off together then alone. |

Tala continued to slowly approach just a little closer, but still stayed a little ways away. She wasn't completely trusting. She had no idea where she was, which caused her to be a little irritated. She lost her boat, which was bad enough to begin with. She did have it insured and all. But it had been her pride and joy for a long while.
"I've been following you since your last campsite that you were at. I....I heard a yell and I figured you were following that, so I was going to follow behind and watch a bit." She takes a moment to breath slowly, trying to collect her thoughts a bit again before speaking again. "My name is Tala...And no, I'm not going to hurt you...But do you have any idea where we are here? I shipwrecked last night during a huge storm and I managed to get here on an inflatable boat. But I didn't bring my GPS or any of my radio equipment..." |

It's a pleasure to meet you Tala.
*Dexter say's when the wolfess reveals her name. I'm glad to hear you don't plan on harming me. You can understand how that sword of yours could give me pause, me being unarmed and all. My friends it seems left me with very little. *Dexter chuckles They got me good this time I think. Been following that river for weeks. If I'd known there was an ocean so close by I might not have... Well I'd not have met you I suppose *Dexter smiles I was going to follow the river to it's source, but I caught the scent of at least two wolves. So I was thinking I might just check that out, see if they were friendly or not. Sort of like you were doing to me I guess. They might know a bit more about where it is we are then I do. That yell being in the same direction sort of made my mind up for me. As to where we are, all I can say is we can't be far from where I was when I was knocked out. I'm sure we can't be but a days travel away from Pamplona. |

Tala gave a small nod of her head again as she looked over her machete, realizing that he probably did see that as a weapon.
"I'm sorry. I was using this to try cutting down some of the foliage...And yeah, the ocean is that way a ways, I'm afraid." She gave a bit of a nod once again when hearing about the other wolves that were heard, having heard at least one of them herself. But she wasn't quite sure about the second one. It did make her curious though. It would be nice to actually get some answers. She was hoping that this creature would, but found it strange that he had only arrived on this place recently as well. Though, she was surprised and a bit dismayed that he seemed to have been here for weeks now, and hadn't found anyone. "Then perhaps we should go and try and find out where the sounds came from? It would be really nice to find someone who actually knows where this place is..." |

My thoughts exactly.
*Dexter said with a smile. It will be nice to have a traveling companion. I have to admit I was getting rather lonely out here. Don't get me wrong, some quiet solitude is nice. Gives you time alone with your thoughts, allows you to contemplate things. Only It's nice to talk with someone to. I really missed that. *Dexter thought of telling her about the one wolf he'd seen, the one with wings. Only he didn't quite believe it himself. So he thought it best not to mention it least she think he had lost it. Instead he pulled out his watch to check the time and bearing. As he did he spoke. Something crashed over there as well last night. I heard it with my own ears. I figure we can reach it sometime tomorrow if we're lucky. |

Tala gave a nod of her head as she moved up closer to the bull, still finding the creature intimidating. But relaxed a good bit more since he seems to be a much calmer creature than she would have expected him to be. She perks her ears a bit, listening to the various sounds, trying to find anything out there that might be useful. But nothing came to her by sound at least. She remembered about which direction they needed to head though.
"I suppose we should get going then. We have the whole day to travel..." She thinks about what she needed before they went. She moved into her pack, which held a canteen in it. She moved over to the river, taking a good drink first before filling her canteen up for the trip. She had no idea where water was and where it wasn't, so she figured it would be a good idea to get what she could now. She was also glad that she put together this little emergency kit pack. Though there were a few things that she wish she had put in it that she didn't. "It is nice to at least have someone to talk to. I can't imagine being out here alone for a few weeks...I'm glad that didn't happen to me... But I do hope we can find a town. Or city...There's got to be one somewhere around...right...?" |

I suppose we should
*Dexter says in agreement as he puts away his watch I'm not sure we want to miss those wolves should they pull up camp *He adds as he picks up his walking staff and waits for Tala to get ready. Yea, there has to be something. That's why I was trailing the river. Best shot at finding some sign of civilization is by fresh water. Course the sea lends itself well to finding habitation along it's shore only you can't drink the water. *He explains, hoping it made as much sense to her as it did to him. It is then that he grows quiet. It was rather lonely. *He says softly I thought I was going to lose my mind. You are real aren't you ?, your not just a result of my mind snapping ? Tala quickly got her things ready once she got the water, walking near the bull now. She kept a slightly weary eye on him, still not trusting the creature fully. But she felt comfortable enough around him at this point to let her guard down for the most part.
"Yeah. There are usually people who live along the rivers, but lets try heading towards where that sound had come from." She pulls out a compass, trying to keep the idea of where they needed to head so she could more easily keep track of their movement. She put the compass back in her bag, not exactly having any pockets on her to hold anything. She did feel a bit under-dressed at the moment. But it wasn't something she could help exactly. "I hope you're not losing your mind. I really don't think I'm a figment of your imagination...Heh. Lets head out." With that, she slowly moved down the direction that she knew that they had to go, taking out the machete again to cut down parts of foliage that she had to cut away. But for the most part it was mostly un-necessary. Just mostly for the thicker brush. |

Good
*Dexter said with a grin as he walked behind her I'd rather prefer you being real. You being unsure settles it I think. Illusions are generally pretty sure of themselves *Dexter laughs I have to admit though that your pretty much what a lost lonely male might just conjure up. *Dexter thought of expanding on just why he thought she might have been an illusion, or rather a fantasy, but thought it best to change the subject least he offend her. So... You said you were shipwrecked ? I take it you were sailing then. |

Tala moved forward, moving a a steady pace, but not too quick. Nor too fast, though. She would periodically look behind her just to see what the bull was doing. Though, something he said definitely caught her attention. About her being the kind of image that might pop up on a lonely male's mind. She did feel a bit flattered by the thought, thinking that to be an indirect compliment towards her. She gives a light smile and soft chuckle, shaking her head.
"I'd think a guy like you would probably imagine another bovine girl or something. Hehe." She gives another nod of her head with what was asked afterwards, smiling again. "Yep. It wasn't a huge vessel. Something that I can handle just by myself. But it was pretty good. I was just caught off-guard by the storm that hit me. I didn't realize there was the chance of any kind of severe weather at the time. It was clear skies, then all of a sudden, there was a storm. But that was a cursed area....The Bermuda Triangle. Have you ever heard of it? I'm sure most everyone has. I'm just not sure exactly where you're from and all. I imagine this is one of the islands or something out there in that area....but I won't know until we can actually find a town..." She continues cutting down some of the foliage as they travel, grunting a bit with the exertion. But she was pretty fit. To sail like she did, she kind of had to be. |
