I play a MORPG (Not WoW) and the other night two aquaintances (well, friends of friends mainly) were engaging in a flirtly extended discussion on "Yffing" with 2 other people. Involved were 2 females, one male and another person playing a female character that could have been either. Catgirls are a common fixture in the game and the discussion involved subtle distinctions on what was and was not Yffing. I mostly did not participate in the discussion, even though I knew more than half of the people involved due to the fact I have a lot of RL connections in the game and I am paranoid about stuff like that.

Basically the 2 females "in the know" were trying to seduce the others into some sort of anthro cyber orgy. I was blown away with how open these two were. Apparently they are RL lovers who are VERY open-minded. Nothing like that has ever happened to me before, even though there have been some stray comments that could have just been playful teasing. Has something like this ever happened to others out there, either in RL or in an online setting where you have a continous prescence with a group of friends outside of the BF here?

I know I am WAY to worried to ever share info like that in a way that it may get back to people I know in RL, or even to someone that could track me down and put my face to behavior like that. What do you guys think?

I don't know if I'd go so far as to call yiffing zoophilia. I know some furries, right or wrong, do not like that connotation so I think you should be glad you kept quiet.

Discussions of actual bestiality have come up before, and I can remember a particular incident where everyone had negative things to say about these pictures someone found online and it was the "grossest thing they have ever seen." Until I chimed in and said it wasn't bad at all, and gave my reasoning and then a few of them seemed to agree. What a bunch of sheep!

Yeah I don't really equate Yiff or fur as being the same as zoo/beast. Anthros are pretty common in fantasy, especially in the gaming industry.

One thing about dedicated sites is that you can be pretty certain the members have the interest in it...posting about or discussing such topics elsewhere could turn out negatively.

I play a couple of MMOs myself (one of them being WoW), and given the general level of maturity and intelligence of the player base, I wouldn't tell them the time of day, much less my thoughts on topics like those discussed on BF. -_-

Quoted for truth... Finding someone on WoW with an IQ higher than their body temperature is becoming exceptionally rare it seems. I can only imagine the uproar that would be caused by discussing zoophilia in general chat...

Especially if one were to say how much they'd love to fuck those Night Elf sabercats all night and day, or the cat form of the NE druids... *daydreams*

I have never been interested in those new online gaming things, and as to the maturity of some of the contestants, well I would not like to say to much. In the past I have only spoken to a few very close aquaitences who knew about my love of animals.
I guess I never will understand why some people have to dress up in animal costumes and play fantasy sex games. I guess it is a bit like reading or watching something while you play with your self.
After I got caught with a canine in my room one night one of the other patients heard the night staff talking about me and the dog. He was very hesitant at starting up a discussion about what he had heard the night staff talking about what I did to the dog , which quickly turned into friendship and he introduced me to this site, but alas he has passed away a fair while ago and I am on my own again except for the other members of this site.
Oops looks like I drifted off the subject a bit.
Back in the fifties in there was plenty of speculating about the subconscious thoughts of people and animals. In public most of us said "are they joking" but in real life I thing many of us were living a different life style, and we never discussed what we did in our bedrooms.

Furry role-play is not zoophilia and is not related to it in any way, which is the same for most other facets of the furry fandom. From what I've learned, they generally hate the comparison and often aren't zoo-friendly, sometimes to the point of anger and hostility.

On the actual subject of zoophilia, I have seen the topic come up for discussion in a few places. Most people who participated in the discussions were intelligent and mature about it. Not surprisingly, the reactions are usually divided. Although a large number of people are opposed to the concept, there are many who will tolerate its existence as long as the animals are not harmed.

The subject of bestiality pornography also comes up every once in a while, but usually they're passing jokes with mentions of other forms of extreme or taboo porn. Since they're intended as jokes, nobody takes it seriously and the topic moves on.

Used to play an MMORPG, just Diablo now ^_^

As for the discussion I agree with most of the above in terms of it being more furry than zoo oriented.

Unfortunately most conversations i've heard in relation to zoophilia were rather negative.

Well, I agree that actual Zoo and Yff are different (although connected by degrees) and one is not really the other. However this was the closest I have ever been to seeing a real conversation about it. Aside from the usual snotty jokes by immature idiots that is.

And yes, Missy I agree, most people are sheep to ashamed to disagree with someone.

Since this was the closest I have come to hearing a real conversation about zoo I was curious as to what other people's experiences were.

The only comments that I have heard about zoo/beast have been negative (including my serious relationships). When I hear people discussing it. It has always been presented as some kind of joke. Also, I have heard news casts that put it down. Ex: One man went to jail for fence hopping his niegbors horse. I heard a news cast that said a man was placed in jail for having sex with his Elephant.

BF is the only place that I hear good things about what passions tell me is acceptable.

QFT

i work in the pet supply business and i've witnessed a few lets-make-fun-of-zoo discussions. when a woman comes in and is sickly sweet to her dog to the point it is nauseating (like using excessive babytalk or letting the dog sniff EVERYTHING to determine 'what it wants today') they tend to start up with it, either "christ, that woman better not have kids" or "that lady in love with her dog came in today". the latter usually ends up with a few of the stockers mocking their 'relationship'. although clearly the woman isn't zoo (or even beast), she's just a pet-crazy lonely woman... i personally have always been extra nice since I dont think she's able to get out much.

but the point is, i have witnessed mocking and jeering related to beastiality but never been part or had any actual discussions. to be completely frank i think a lot of the people in retail simply wouldn't be able to handle the concept of zoosexuality, its too lofty for them. :P

I have had a number of conversations with people about zoo. I've sent a number of vid clips to people and then had a discussion about it. I've sent newspaper clips and later had talks. I don't admit to doing it until I am SURE they are okay with it.

But I'm open.

There have been discussions concerning bestiality and zoophila at pretty much all of my previous places of employment. When i was an equine reproductive tech the discussions actually came up quite often. I guess it was just the humor involved or something relating to what we were doing. At my other retail jobs it has also come up on numerous time. It is amazing how as a job becomes more and more boring the conversations get weirder and weirder. I have also done interviews both in person and over the phone with people who are studying zoophilia and bestiality (universities and such).

Hmmm, I guess this is basically what I expected to hear. People we work with and know can be hurtful and stupid. There is also a lot of ignorance out there about what this really is.

Has anyone really ever heard a positive conversation from someone not in the zoo community? I would really like about it, though I don't think I will be holding my breath :(
