I'm a pretty big lesbian. With all species, and I fancy quite a few. However, I can't help taking a notice of the male dogs.

Their reproductive bits are actually quite attractive compared to other species I've taken a look at. And that knot ...Mmmm. Although I don't think I'd ever let a dog mount me. Being penetrated is not for this girl. However, I've got a co-op at the local vet clinic, and one of my jobs is bathing, blowdrying, and brushing the dogs that come in for grooming. Most dogs hate this procedure, but I've noticed the males get rather excited during the bathing. I have to scrub them really well, and clean all the bits. So by the time I'm at the male's sheath, some of them are showing a bit of pink. Admittedly I've groped quite a few of them after I noticed this little detail.
I know it's not really right feeling up someone else's dog without the owner's permission, and I do feel sort of guilty after.

So I was wondering what people first noticed about canines that attracted them, and what their first experience with a canine might have been.

In my case I wasn't attracted to him in a sexual way. He was just a big dopey, boofy boy who always seemed to want to play. I made the mistake of changing my clothes from work to home attire and he decided to take a closer look. A few licks later I was wondering just how much he was interested. I quickly found out. The rest is history.
He was great, the scratch marks were a bonus and later I had fun with one of his offspring. Now I need a situation where I can relive those happy times.

For some reason I was mostly attracted to their form... How powerful their bodies are built, how gracefully they move.

One of the first time I really noticed this certain attraction to dogs was when I was tackled by a Husky, pinned to the ground, his front paws on the front of my shoulders. While this doesn't exactly seem blatantly sexual, I sure thought about that Husky for a long time... His owners were freaked out, thinking I was hurt, but all I was thinking was "wow... that was pretty awesome".

The more wolf-like breeds still get the most of my attention. Something about those perky ears... Haha

When I first look at a dog a look at their face and their eyes. It's not a sexual thing at all. When I was growing up my parents always told me that you can tell how nice an animal is by their eyes. So now I always look at their eyes. After of course they smell me. Looking right into a dogs eyes is a sign of aggression to them.

like the previous posters above it was not a sexual attraction at first. It's just something about them, their appearance, the way they move, the way they look at you...
But the features I love most, soft fur and wagging tails... oh and those eyes. my boy has such pretty eyes.

that's exactly how I am, too. the form of a dog is what attracts me primarily. for example, i'm not a fan of the droop-eared breeds. i dont look at them and get that lightheaded, giddy jump in my chest.
but show me any shepherd dog with the regal slope and elongation of the muzzle, the strong back and barrel chest, and those incredibly gorgeous ears and i'm just a puddle of jello at their feet.
my absolute favorite breed known to man is the Northern Inuit dog, followed (sadly) by the Tamaskan, even though they're a questionable lineage in the US. but for plain ol' AKC breeds the GSD takes the cake by far. i also have a soft spot for great pyrs, but only tight-lipped ones. i cant stand super droopy jowels, its a turn-off.
its all about a general asthetic. for example, of the breeds listed i prefer the slender masculine-built dogs, the tucked-tummy look. in breeds like the GSD where there are two personal preference standards (working and show, the former being the leaner) i will always pick the working/leaner style of the breed.
responsiveness is also hugely important to me. if i call a dog and they're too dopy to even notice whatever attraction (or perhaps respect) i had for the dog goes out the window. thats partially why the erect ears of the GSD/NID/Tammy are so delightful... you can really tell they're listening to you!

its all about the streamlined form. the sexual side of things is just a nice bonus for me.

I agree with you on so much as well :P

Mmmm...that nice tuck-up. :D And definitely an alert, attentive dog is a turn on (brains are sexy, i'ts true).

Droopy lips, skin or ears... no thanks,.

I don't really look at just one part or area of a canine. I prefer to look at the whole picture, and whatever hangs underneath him is a bonus.

So I was wondering what people first noticed about canines that attracted them.

My attraction to male dogs all happened after I watched a dog humping a woman. Before that day, I had no sexual attraction to dogs at all. Now after being active with two dogs. If I see a well endowed, short haired dog, Naughty thoughts will go through my mind. :o

My rottie's form and physique is what attracted me to that breed. They look like they are powerfully built and intimidating, at least for me. I dunno how else to describe it. I guess something just stirs me on the inside to become attracted to him in that way.

I haven't had a bf in years and my rottie is more than enough for me. He's loyal and protective and he aint gonna cheat on me lol.

That's pretty much how I think.
