At 8:00 this morning (EST), we lost one of our most highly respected, and loved staff members.

Harold has been a dear friend to me personally for many years, and I know he's been a friend to many of you as well.

For those of you who knew him, please feel free to take a moment to reflect, say goodbye, post a comment, or just to send out a silent prayer on his behalf.

Harold was more than just the rosebud man.....he supported the chatroom, and was a well known entity in the room for about 7 (maybe 8) years. He himself used to joke around that he lived in that room, because his name could be seen there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Even while he slept at night, his name was still visible in the room.

Harold had many physical ailments that kept him in constant pain, but he always remained cheerful. He never took his personal problems out on anyone else. Bad things do happen to good people unfortunately, and his physical demise wasn't easy on him. However, at the very end, he was not in pain, and was surrounded by his loving family.

I was honored to be able to say goodbye to him personally last night over the phone. It was a sad moment for me, but I was grateful for the chance to let him know how much we all cared.

Please take a moment to honor his memory.

He is already sorely missed.

Many of us lost a very dear Friend today and he will be surely missed..

Harold a true friend, a great person that was always there to help out anyone that needed him. His chat room presense will always be there with the rich memories of his experiance and big heart. I remember one former chatter saying " I saw a picture of harold and he looks like santa clause" that did not suprise me because he was always a "giver" RIP brother (real tears)

Such sad news :(.

Many a time he made me laugh when I used to frequent the chat room.

so sad to hear of harolds passing ,,,,,,, but thanks neece for being there when many of us never had the chance to even meet ......i feel that by being a small part of the chat room regulars i have come to appreciate harold a little bit ,,,,but its never easy to say good bye to such a dedicated and nice fella .

R.I.P. Harold, only knew him for a short while but was a fun and cheerful guy!! He will always be remembered here!! Sincere condolences to the family.

I was afraid of, and am really sorry to hear this. How awful. :( It seemed so unnecessary, too. :angry:

Perhaps we should donate to a local (NO KILL) shelter in his name? I know I will.
