For me, except for one case, emotional bonding takes place before sexual attraction I have very intense emotions when mating. And even in that one case I spoke of, love came very soon after our first coupling.

I've had emotional bonds with my animals without having sex with them. So it's not a far stretch that when I actually have an animal of my own sexually there will be an emotional bond.

Just because your animal can't say "I love you" back doesn't mean you can't bond with them emotionally as well as physically.

for me i'd have to say a big YES.

for me it's that emotional bond that is important, and the best part to me. even with out actural sex that deep emotional bond is very wonderful, and something i love and treasure with my girl. I'd rather have that bond than sex if i had to choose between them. Sex is just an added bonus.

Aww of course they can ^_^ and thats a good stance, they have their own language, whether its physical (licking your face, nuzzling, curling up beside you) or other means (a whinney or other noise). Of course, you are literally right as I doubt they can speak in a human tongue :P

They know they're loved and emotional bonds should be there with or without sexual intercourse

Edited: forgot someting :P

Of course, I do!

He is my best friend, my lover, my protector and can always make me laugh.

Being joined with him is emotion charged.

Yeah, I am most emotional when I'm not having sex. Well, he's not really in a cuddling mood when he's hard.

I mean, sometimes he'll come into my room at 4am and nuzzle me, and then put his front paws on me. He nuzzles me pretty hard, and sometimes I tell him to go lay down, but other times he's so dang cute I can't help but cuddle.

I see sex as a emotional bond anyway, so I would definitely form that bond during intercourse.

Skyrune, I wouldn't worry too much about it. After all what you feel IS essentially the same as what your average married couples feel for each other when they make love. I think what he original poster was looking to find out was if there was ANY kind of emotional bond you shared with the animal you make love with. Not that you "fall in love" in some deep emotional unrealistic Harlequin novel kinda way during and as a result of the throes of sex. Which is in reality not what realistically happens between people either. If it did it would be common and people wouldn't need to write idealized fantasies novels about that kind of love and sex.

Which is differentiated from simply liking a particular animal or just liking a particular human lover. As we all know love is not necessary to have sex. And most people who do have sex aren't in deep love. And I think that was the point of the original poster.

Very good point energydog.
I guess maybe I read too much into the original question. :pinch:

I will say though that when sex is intense enough - as it can often become when mating with animals - the lines representing what is emotional connection, and what is pure physical pleasure do tend to blur a bit.

Good thread, nevertheless.

Yes, definitely. I loved her a lot and I still miss her sometimes a dozen years later.

I can't even imagine what it will be like when my baby is gone. It will tear me apart, because even though he's just under 1.5 years, I still worry about that day.

I've always had a deep emotional bond with all my dogs, having sex with them has never changed that merely added a nice big bonus :D

Agreed. The fact that I have sex strengthens that bond. He is a lover and constant companion.
