this might be a silly question but

does anyone feel love for their beast mate? or ever felt it? i mean beyond just sexual or companion like, but i mean. The same kind of love between people in a relationship.

cuz i have before, her name was lucky, a beautiful black lab/collie mix. too small for sex id assume, and spayed anyways...but that moment our eyes locked and we kissed i was in love. she ..belonged to a friend, but i deffinitly visited more often...if anything to be with my lucky. i considered her my girlfriend, i was loyal only to her, no one else. no man or animal, just her. when i came over she whimped and nudged me and followed me everywhere, i know she loved me too. i wish they hadnt moved away and taken my girl D:

sorry for being sappy but yeah... :)

Tricky question to answer so I'm about do the best I can ^_^

I love my dog in lots of ways and he's very important to me ...... we're particularly close becuase it's just him and me.

Would he replace a human male completely ? No in a nutshell. He fulfils certain wants and needs most definitely ........ but he can not fulfil other needs that only another human can.

I'm still not sure exactly what you mean  ....... do you mean to the exclusion of having relationships with other people ?

If you think of bestiality as a scale ........ at one end there would be people who just have sex with their dogs or other animals and have no particular deep feelings for them ....... at the other end there would be zoophiles who shun pretty much human mates at all and are happy with just their animal ones. I think it's fair to say a lot would fall in between those two extremes.

I'm sorry but I can't see how anyone could feel like a husband and wife thing going on with a dog that isn't even theirs ..... love yes, infatuation yes, but not anything that would compare to a human husband and wife thing. Anyway, I don't think in a way the two types of relationship can be compared at that level, as dogs are not limited to or by our concept of human relationships ...... and have no understanding of them anyway. It's a bit like comparing apples with oranges.

Well you obviously did care for her ..... perhaps one day you'll re-discover that love again, and with a dog that is yours so you don't find yourself in the same position of being seperated ..... I do hope so :).

I've now been without my dog for ....... 8 hours ........ and the house feels so quiet and empty without him ..... he's a lil divil and drives me to distraction regularly .... but he's MY lil divil and I love him ^_^

I've been in love with a dog before. Wonderful feeling...but in the end it hurt so bad when I lost him, and nobody knew or understood the depth of my loss. There were my friends, pet lovers in the normal sense, who understood the feeling of losing a pet. But he was more than a pet! -_-

I looked forward to being with him every day. Even if things were usually non-sexual, I couldn't wait for the end of the day, when we would cuddle in bed at night. Best feeling ever. ^_^ It was love, I know it.
