Why is it that some new members get hung up for extensive periods of time in the "validating" group? Most new members fly right through the validating process within a couple of days, but others aren't so quickly validated. In the meanwhile, members cannot send PMs to them.

Here are a couple of examples: nattesnee joined 28Feb04 and Iron_Maiden joined 7Nov06. Both are still being validated. This is by no means a complete list.

Is there a way to run a listing of validating members sorted by join date and see if there's a system-wide "glitch" that's catching those whose join dates are more than a couple of days old? Seems to me, these cases ought to be disposed of, one way or another, rather than be kept in such lengthy a period of "limbo."

if people change their email addresses they need to re-validate their accounts. If they mistyped their email or just put in a bogus one they are caught in no mans land ... usually they will contact support then ...

Why would you need to send a pm to someone who has never posted?

Well, how about if I find they're having birthdays and want to send them birthday greetings? Obviously I don't "need" to send a PM to such a person, because I can't but I'm still here. It's a matter of "want," because some of these newbies have created interesting profiles and I want to establish contact with them.

Since they gave false emails or changed emails immediately after registering it's highly unlikely they would get your PM.. Plus, The profile info is prolly fake also..

Bottom line; If they are validating don't waste your time..

My bottom line: Precisely! All I'm asking for is that the "Today's Birthdays" section show the validating and banned members EXACTLY as they are shown in the other section. That is (to repeat myself) the validating members in italics and the banned members with lines through their names. Then, I wouldn't waste my time clicking on names on the "Today's Birthdays" list that were either validating or banned. All I'm asking for is that the same visual clues available on the other section be available on the "Today's Birthdays" section.

Capiche?

The issue of falsehoods in members' profiles is another thing, entirely. Some seem to be deliberate but others seem to be because they haven't been updated as frequently as the members' life journeys have changed their circumstances. That goes for members of every rank and category.

me: "When you click on the members name in order to contact them you can see their status"

you: "Yes, but then I waste time clicking on members that are validating or banned ..."

me: "You seems like a basement dweller anyway - so I think that you have all the time in the world available too you ..."

you: "Mom called - dinner is ready ... will make a long and boring reply when I am done eating ..."

So, this is how my suggestions and feedback are going to be dealt with by "management?" Ad hominem attacks on me, rather than addressing the issues I've raised? Making sport of those who make suggestions or give feedback in good faith is (or should be) beneath you.

OK, well, how about this: The BF is perfect the way it is and there's nothing anyone could possibly do to improve it! I love it! You won't find me making any suggestions or feedback to improve upon perfection, anymore! You may as well lock this thread up, 'cause it's over.
