Tina laid at her computer desk, arms folded under head staring at the blank screen. She'd just finished up work for the day, Jeff would be home a little later. The emotions of her heat that were still apparent let her know that she was still without pups. Over and over in her mind she told herself that her body might not be ready for another shock. That, it wasn't meant to be just yet. Glancing down at the computers clock it read 5:57PM. Sighing, she slid from the chair and over to the couch.

Flipping on the television, Tina slunk down into the soft cushions and zoned into its fine glow. Turning on her local news she let it run, wanting to hear the weather for the next few days. "We come to you with a breaking story tonight. Two people; a man and a woman have been found brutally murdered this afternoon. The police have yet to release details about the people's identities. Their where a bouts were..."

She sat up wide eyed. The hair on her neck stood on edge. Those were the woods just beyond their apartment building.

"Chief! Chief! What can you tell us about the murders?" A young woman reporter shoved the fluffy looking microphone into Frank Ingemilli's face. The round, stern looking man huffed at the cameras.

"From what we can tell," he started looking at all the dozens of cameras on him. "The killings seemed to have been by a large animal. No person could have done what we've found today. As soon as we know more rest assured we will release it to the public." The woman then spoke up again as he turned to walk into the precinct.

"Do you have any advice for our viewers? Should they be worried?"

He turned around once again. "Stay out of the woods for now, and if you see anything suspicious call the police immediately. No more questions."

The news then switched back to the studio room and Tina was pacing about nervously. Dead bodies? In our woods? Can't be... We were just there... Oh god... We were just there! She ran her hands over her face. Jeff was with her all night. Neither one of them would've done this.

There had to be someone else... The door swung open and Jeff rushed in.

"My parents just called me to see if we were okay!" Tina near hit a wall he scared her so badly. Wrapping his arms around her waist he hugged her close. "Someone else is in our territory."

"That could have been us Jeffrey..." She whined.

"I have a feeling it was meant to be..." Pulling her close he kissed her cheek sweetly. "C'mon, we're going to my parents. They called important members of the pack there... It can only mean someone from our pack is doing this or someone from another..." He sighed, more like groaned irately.

"Other pack? There are others that want us dead?" She blinked up at him confused.

"War wages in every species. I'm going to shower, then we're leaving."

That story is by far on of the best i have read so far. Keep up the good work, it arouses me quite well. ^.^

Though i have to ask...was reading the "Twilight" saga any help with the ideas? It seems somehow familliar :D

** To NicHole and any one else that has had a similar question: I've never read Twilight. In fact, I've tried my best to keep my distance from it as much as possible. (It's become way too much for me).

The last book I read was World War Z by Max Brooks, if any of you are zombie fans, I suggest checking it out -- look for the movie in 2010.

All the ideas are original (or at least my own) and are thought up as the story progresses.

I should get around to writing up another portion this evening as it seems that dreaded time-of-the-month has taken grip and I'm resting it off as much as I can today.

Yet...did you mean you never read the saga as a whole, or never read even the first book (they kinda have the same name, go figure). Not that it matters at all, it's just that im reading it atm and sometimes your story just portrays the littlest of hints here and there... ;)
