With Safari or Firefox, click that (Safari...) at the top left, and a menu appears---select Preferences, click "block ads", like that. Can't help with IE, I'm software challenged enough without doing the MS Win thing....... ;)

As far as banner advertizing goes, does the site (that posts the add) get the cash for each click on the banner, or the sub sites under the banner, or both?

i was looking around trying to find an answer for u but i have bad news :(
from what i read up on firefox has something called "ad-block" that allows the banners to be blocked. internet explorer doesn't have that software. i THINK u can download something like "ad-block" for IE but i don't want to point u into any dead ends. or u can do what i do and download FF and just use it to access the forum while it blocks the ads for u. and its a little bit safer for me because everyone i know just uses IE ^_^ the LAST person i know that can help u is deerhunter. he can at least point u in the right direction. unless the banner company has him under the gun forcing him to keep shut about blocking them. I'm sure he will be more than willing to help you out :) This post has been edited by bootylover on Jul 24 2008, 05:04 AM |

...at the risk of sounding quite glib... Um... how about installing Firefox in winders... http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ really, I've converted a number of winders users and its a bit safer than using IE *HUGS* |
