And my perfect dog, ive had both the cat (fee fee) and Holly the dog since they where both pups and kittens. Ive grown up with them and love them both so much. I only just noticed this thread and thought I had better share these two bundels of joy with everybody, (and no i dont do anything sexual with them)
It dosent seem to want to let me add the pics will try again later...

While puppies are cute, they can be a lot of work. And they seem to be able to get into plenty of trouble as well.
most of the dogs I adopted in the past were older dogs, and till recently the youngets was 10 months old when i adopted her.
My newest one was about 5 months old when I got her and is very trying at times. Need to get a bit more fence up so I can let her run in the fenced parts of the yard.

I will add that there are so many older dogs that need homes, and I had given a number of them a home in the past.
But it is often hard to find one that is intact from so many shelters. They have these spay/neuter policies. My oldest girl was payed before I ever saw her, though the shelter did not check her past close enough, so she nearly had a second operation that was not needed. They had shaved her for spaying, and then evidently found she had the scar from having been done previously. But didn't bother to tell me that part, and following the instructions they gave me, she had no supper or water that night.
then when i went to look at her stitches, I found only a shaved belly and an old scar.
I had one older girl years ago that had a scar so fine that it was hard to see, and the vet that checked her out claimed she was not spayed. needless to say, I simply licensed her as intact rather than have her go though that carp.
And she never came into heat, which lent more credence to her having been spayed.

I love animals too much to put them through things that are not needed...
i would love to find a picture I had of her, and of the Siberian I had before that. But those seem to be long lost.
