awww. She sounds like such a cutie.

Seems like its just her personality. Perhaps she may change, but for now you must treat her like the pampered princess she wants to be. ^_^

She is now THE BOTTOM OF THE TOTAM POLE IN A PACK! If she came from a litter & was the bottom of the pack, she's being subserviant. How old is she?

Well it sounds like less of a "girlish" problem and more something along the lines of being extremely submissive. Its not something you can grow out of. But she can "learn" her way out of it, maybe. I say maybe because a lot is dependant on her environment. The fact that you already have two older established, and more dominant acting females in the household, will make it difficult if not impossible to break her of her submissive behaviors. My only suggestion is to do the kind of play where she is encouraged and allowed to dominate you regularly during play. But I would do this out of sight of the other dogs. Seeing her, the most subordinate female in the pack, dominating or trying to dominate you, even in play, may initiate in them a need to enforce their dominance and her subordinance. In short they may decide its time to regularly beat the crap out of her. They may also see increased deference to her by you as a threat to their positions within the pack. So once again you may be back at square one with them reinforcing the hierarchy behind your back. Ultimately, you're kinda stuck. If you are going to try and modulate her behavior to act more dominant I suggest you do it slowly to keep pack tensions to an absolute minimum.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Energydog, good show ;) I used to own 4 dogs before and had a young pup I rescued come into the fold and she showed similiar traits, even got herself injured amidst her confusion of where she belonged in the pack. A short time in a cast and she healed fine. My suggestions were going to be the same as yours, give her time away from the other animals to relax and allow her to be dominant during play, in a safe atmosphere. And slowly. It could turn dangerous fast if not regulated and done carefully or if the other members of the pack just won't allow it. Good luck, mopar hun.

And a 10 for the excellent post, energydog. ^_^
