That maybe but I have been out there and I have seen first hand what they have done. I have seen what has come in too. When Horses come in with soars and missing hair and look so bad that it makes you cry then yes there is abuse. It is one thing for them to be old and aged it is another thing fro them to be down right hurt and neglected.
For anyone to slaughter a horse because it is useless or just an inconvenience is wrong. To sell the meat to be consumed is wrong. Horses are transportation and pets, not your dinner!! So if you save one horse from being the main course then do so!!

Please, help put a stop to animals slaughtering here!!
There are horses being slaughtered for food and we need to address this issue. Why do we allow dealings with other countries and why do we turn our head on ourselves. We should not allow horses to be slaughtered for any reason.
It is shameful that horses are being used for meat, when we have other sources. To slaughter a horse for the main course goes beyond wrong. I have been raised around horses and was taught to respect them and to see what is being done to them makes me sick. To know our own government is doing nothing about it is even worse. I would hope that laws are being passed to help put a stop to these cruel useless slaughters to those poor helpless horses. I have only the deepest respect for horses, who have given me a ride and let me lean on them when I have needed too. So I beg you, Please do what you must to stop the slaughter of all horses.

Think of it this way, would you like your pet to be your main course tonight!!!

I'm an educated horse lover, in the rated G way and the XXX manner. I support regulated and humane slaughter. The horse industry will have serious negative consequences without it, wait and see. ALL horses will suffer for it.

Also, read the laws carefully. The laws proposed (the ones you are urging people to support) outlawing transporting a horse to be euthanized. It also eliminates USDA inspections and regulating the horse shipping industry. It is so poorly written the law will throw everyone into chaos, even those completely opposed to and far removed from slaughter.
