Ok... Im new to all this and im curious about something. I have read that some have been suprised by their dog mounting them without their prior knowledge. Does this happen after the dog has been trained, or do some dogs find humans appealing and just hop on them. Is their prior sexual energy going on between both beforehand? Sorry if this is a dumb question.

By without they're knowledge do mean without them knowing it happened? O without they're permission?... I can only say that a dog will hump about anything as long as it's warm... Having said that, I had one that would hump stuffed toys... Horny little devil he was... I find it hard to believe a dog could actually copulate with a woman (or man for that matter) without her/his knowledge... If that happened then I recommend that person to lay off the booze... :P

Btw :welcome: to the best form on the web... ;)

I think he means without human instigations. I think it maybe multiple reasons on that one. Mounting is also done for dominance reasons, and mock fighting/playing, as well as strictly sexual reasons. I believe in the cases of uninitiated mounts, some degree of those causes was at play. Then the human partner may have also did things in response that may have encouraged the dog to change it into a sexual situation even if one wasn't strictly intended by the dog.

No, it's not a dumb question. :) I can't speak to why a dog tries to mount a person without prior experience with them.

I was active with two males. One almost never initiated sex by trying to mount me without prior coaxing from me. The total opposite with the other. He constantly tried to initiate sex by trying to mount me without any coaxing on my part. Whether because he saw himself as the alpha male, or just liked having sex that he couldn't resist, I'll just never know.

I think Silky was the first to understand the question asked here.

And as far as I have seen. Dogs will usually mount their owner as a sign of dominance... usually not for actual sex. But if they are horny, I don't think sex training or not... could change the urge to grab your leg and yogurt you.

I guess that we have ALL seen dogs try to mount a leg! I would just guess that some dogs are (just like some men) are hornier than most!

It's a natural instinct for most male dogs to try and mount anything that moves. Sometimes it's an act of attempting to assert dominance on their part ..... some are just trying to vent their sexual urges and anyone or anything will do ....

:D My wife has been active with dogs since she was very young,And i cant remember at and time she had to coax any dog to her to have sex with her.Thats since we have been togather,She gets arroused every time she sees a male dog that she liked the looks of.And would get wet as hell. I belive that the male dogs though that she was in heat from the odor she would have.when she got excited.
Again it depends on the women.

Yes but in her case its like I mentioned before. Where she was doing things, like changes in her scent, as well as behavioral ques that helped encourage the dog to mount and mate.

In my experience, some males caught on immediately, others were less "advanced". Regarding those which were more advanced, I always wondered if I was in fact their first human!

Any dog can be trained to behave. My dog understood the way I said no to mean no sex. I can posture and point at my studs and they will back up.

Having an intact male requires more work / time than a neutered one be he dog or horse.
Do not assume because a dog makes a move the handler is active with him as boys will be boys. They are dogs and there fore the morals are a little different. I sleep with my dogs and they act as normal as the dog next door because there trained to have maners.

I would have to agree with silkythighs, some dogs and men don't need any encouragement. If it's warm and breathing then some my wish to show their dominance over them by humping them, also some male dogs are like some humans and are not gender specific.
