*sliding down the tunnel into darkness , light receding behind him Dow catches his foot on a small rock , flipping onto his back with a thud and rolling the rest of the way , collecting bruises along the way , at the bottom he stands , stretching and rubbing dirt from himself , then casting a ball of pure red light , holds it high , surveying the cavern he has landed in , noting the bodyies of the spiders slain from up above laying beside him , thinking that he had better make sure they can see if anyone comes down , Dow grasps a spire of rock with a pointed end , snapping it off and placing it in the ground , letting his ball of ;light rest on it , casting a seal bond charm to keep it there permanently , then forming nother in his hand he begins wending his way into the cave*

*loping his way through a cave jutting off from the main cavern , senses alert for anything , thinking now that this could very well be a nest for the spiders , seeing the glistening walls on the edge of his mage-light , wondering how far these cavers reached when suddenly he was hit hard by soemthing from behind , hitting the ground with a roll , standing up and looking around warily , senses alert for the slightest noise , feeling blood tricklig down his back . . . then there it was , a flapping noise above him , diving to the side just as a great bat like animal slammed into the floor where he had been , attempting to get up , swaying from the hit , with a growl Dow steps up , alashing the things throat efficiently , thinking to himself he may wish to head back to the others , turning the way he had come , hurrying back , blood still trickling down his back to the floor*

*spinning back down the hole , hitting rocks and collectin dirt on the way , landing with a thud , face down on the floor , then draggin himself to his feet , standing fully and coming face to face with a spider . . . only not a dedo ne , the thing seemed to be watchign him , he though, then noticing it was looking this way and that while he didntmove*

"it cant see me if i dont move . . .*he though to himself*

*A small glass shere rolled and tumbled down the hole. As it came to rest it started to glow. With a flash of light it was gone and in its place stood Aiden. Reacting to the spider he had seen in the dieing light, Aiden thrust a fireball at the large spider. For a moment it glowed from within, then it exploded. Parts flew everywhere landing on the surrounding walls with wet plops and squishes

Got him

*Aiden exclaims

"indeed , you got his head too!"

*sighs , wiping spider parts off his body disgustedly*

Yes well

*Clears my throught

There was little time to do much else.

*Looks a tad embaressed

"yes . . . lets say that . . .gods this venom stings a bit"

*poking the holes in his back gingerly*

If it gets to bad let me know, I can give you something to dull the pain


As for the spider, I'm sorry about that. I've yet to find a spell that leaves them intact. As for my blade it's properties seem to have a simmiler effect as my spells. Admitidly not to such a sticky end

*Flicks a glob of brain matter from my robe

*raising a brow then heading over to aiden , grabbing his right hand , holding it aloft and lookign at him*

"channel fire element mixed with earth , thinking of hardened stone aflame but not burning only in heat , then think of a narrow beam , that clices through an enemy"

*acting out the said instructions he sends a charge of fiery brown power into the burnt body of tals kill , slicing it cleanly in half , intestinal tract flopping to the floor with a squelch*

*Not knowing what to expect, Talari slides down the side of the hole, trying to grab onto anything she can, slipping from one rock to the next, hitting some sharp ones, but keeping her hand on the bag holding the rune stones. Feeling a root, she grabs it as her foot slips from the rocks, hanging there for a moment, looking down towards the bottom of the hole at the others, finally letting lose and dropping to the bottom with a thud, falling on her behind. Knocking the breath out of her, she sat there until she caught it, looking around, watching for spiders, bats or whatever there was, scurrying over to the others, hearing sounds coming from the darkness.

*Lifting her hands up, lightning flew from her fingertips like it had that time above ground and struck one of the giant bats as it flew towards them.*

"I dont suppose these are edible are they?"

"heh i doubt it love , you can try but judging what they did to by back , they wont tatse too nice . . . nice spell by the way my dear"

As I was about to explain to Dow I can't kill them and leave a body.

*Spotting another bat I try the spell Dow so thoughtfully sugested. It does slice the bat cleanly in two, but as the halves fall they turn to ash

*sighing to himself Dow looks at the ash*

"yes well . . . i guess ill have to do it myself , with two holes in my back . i dont mind i will do it , it will be my pleasure"

*spotting another bat heading straight for him , getting ed up with their attacks he vaults into the air slamming into it in midair , dragging it to the floor and ripping one of its wings off , then biting down on its throat and tearign it out*

"ugh . . . tastes bad , im sick of these damn bats"

*Following the others down the Cavern*
"Its a regular party isnt it"
*Sits on the ground looking into the darkness*

I think it's a matter of my magic having a bad reaction to whatever force is behind them. I've always wanted to test that theory, but I've never found the time.
