Actually, that is not entirely true. I have a male bloodhound who's in tact, and he shows no interrest when ever I try to stroke him off. I start to stroke him, and get his member about half way out, and he moves away from me, lays down, and licks it. Then if I try again, he immediately sits down and starts licking himself again. I've simply given up on him. >_<

I have had the opportunity to play with a few neutered dogs. One was a yellow lab. I could jack him off, he would hump a little and get hard, but completely dry the whole time, not even any lube produced. He also didn't stay hard very long. Another one was a large black lab. Same story here, but he also was the dog I have docked with. That was a cool experience. I have also had the chance to jack a couple dogs that had been neutered within 24 hours. I don't agree. Being as dogs aren't living in a natural environment anymore, and have adapted both in good ways and bad ways to domestication, there are some things that must be considered. Such as, 90% of all animals ever seen in our clinic that were not neutered or spayed developed testicular or mammary cancer in their older age. While it's of course possible for any animal to develop cancer, it's more likely with an animal with hormones running rampant their entire lives, especially since the majority aren't bred regularly like nature originally intended. Our domestication is how we ended up with dogs with increasing medical issues, including just about every disease a human can have, in one form or another. So, we have to adjust. Neutered/spayed animals seem to live longer healthier lives when they are spayed/neutered before they reach puberty.

As far as neutered dogs not being interested...I've had TWO male dogs very interested, that were both neutered from a young age. One I developed a relationship with over years, which for a long time consisted of his licking me to orgasm, but wishing to go no further. Then, when I believe he felt I was ready, he went for mounting, and did so as frequently as I allowed and for a good five to ten minutes each time.

The second was a dog I'd known only for a short time, that was very shy about it, but still interested. However, he usually had to know it was ok for him to do it, and feel secure with the fact that he wasn't going to get in trouble by anyone for doing something he'd probably been thumped on the nose for earlier in his life. But, he too was functional and seemed to have fun :D

Some animals, neutered or unneutered, aren't interested. Some are. It's got more to do with the animal and their personality, and what they are comfortable with than the sexual drive, in my opinion. We've humanized them for so long that they have indeed begun to retain certain traits that we were the first to attribute to them. They make conscious choices on preference for themselves, just like we do.

i agree with u An Insatiable Hunger about that some animals are not interested. I had a blk lab that was not interested at all he got angre if u went nere his cock& balls. But i had a nother that i rassed at the same time did nothing differnt with thte two & he was vary interested he loved it.

but dont agree with neutering animals i think it is wrong unless they is a medical reason or the well far of the animal.

I almost always spay/neuter my dogs after they are done being shown. I have personally found that if males were interested before their neuter surgery their behavior won't change after surgery.

Now getting an adult dog who is already neutered is a crapshoot, the desire is decreased, plus most have never been bred with humans or dogs, so don't understand the pleasures from it.

I noticed that in most of the posts about male dogs, the dog didn't ejaculate. However, there were a couple of posts that said they did, which implies that neutered dogs physically _can_. Is this like when a human has a vasectomy - there's semen but no sperm?

Well I never have had any experiences before. I have a neutered cat *snor* and hes scared to lick me, I try make his feel comftable and when he sees me naked he runs, poor guy, I havnt done anything to hurt him and I've had him scince he was a kiten, meh I dunno. I have an 18 month old black lab mix, Bdad... who is neutered... but still has signs of a prominent libido. Like many here... I had thought him capable of licking only. Now, I am not so sure (see topic "Should he be circumcisized?", today). More on that, in a moment.

About a year ago & quite by accident, my gf & I had our first discovery that Bdad has a natural attaction for women (to lick their kitty). I was cooking breakfast. I have had sexual experiences with several neutered males. They each got hard, produced a knot and had no problem in mounting. However, its a one time session that doesn't last very long and when they stop, its over. Whereas, an unneutered male will stay hard longer and is usually up to a couple of sessions or so after a rest period.

I had never encountered your problem until my neighbor got one of those unique European dogs. I don't remember the breed, short hair about the size of my Dalmation, quite beautiful really. Anyway, my neighbor had to leave for the day on a family emergency and I was asked to check on his dog later in the day ( let him out etc).

Wellllllll, I checked him out throughly, he was exactly as you described, unable to get it out of the sheath. I think this must develope from being neutered at a very young age.

I don't know how to suggest you go about asking a vet circumsize your dog when he is able to do his biological business without it.

I've heard neutered dogs aren't honrny, but ive had 2 dogs that were both hard all the time and frequently humped. They would always smell the vaginas of girls i brought home.

I've had a couple of neutered GSD's over the years. They had some interest to mount, but not as aggressive as an intact male. It also seemed to be painful for them, so I didn't pursue it.

I don't have any experience with neutered dogs but the general concensus of opinion seems to be largely they are not particularly interested.

My dog isn't and will not beneutered ;)
