I thought 25 posts was kinda high for some people and wished you could have say, 10-15 posts and 1-2 downloads, but although this is random they dont have to do anything now.

However, personally I would rather keep up my 25 posts and get the 5 downloads I pick then random selection. At first I thought you got these free downloads and if you contributed 25 posts you got the 5 picked downloads....

So, how can we DL what we want if we don't have the means to contribute actual footage? I can do the 25 posts per month, but I can't do footage (don't have a vid cam or large enough dog)

no - contribute and get something in return.

if you can't contrubute then you still get some random picked material from the forum that you can enjoy.

maybe this is a dumb question, but what sections count as furries ?

Alrighty then, I'll take it. I want that I don't agree with it to be noted, but I'll take it. Would rather have seen it be "three topics of users choice from any section". I know I'm kind of like the homeless begging for filet mignon at the shelter.

I guess I should ask what counts as a contribution. Will uploads to fur.ry and manga count?.

I dont mean to be all negative, but keeping up 25 good posts took some work, after getting up to that point it made me realize that people that keep up their posts like that (or more) are definitely helping and contributing to the forum... maybe not in a pic/vid way, but are putting ideas and knowledge out there for people to use and generally getting people more active. I find it disappointing that they will lose the 5 picked downloads. Though, the random free has its own appeal as well.

Nonetheless, either the way this ultimately turns out I know you/mods care and gave the matter thought :wub:

Oh boy, this will not be popular with a lot of members. This new policy has just about tuned the clock back to the upload to download days.

Beaker has bent over backwards in the past, letting members have free material simply by showing up. This was abused, so he made members simply contribute 25 decent posts to get their free stuff. Now you still get free stuff, but you can't choose what to download other than what is offered that week.

I guess those who bitched, moaned and complained about the 25 post rule, didn't realize when they had it so good.

You have only yourselves to blame.

Maybe pick the random stuff form the entire home made section, too?

Yeah, I must say, that I don´t really like the new rule, cause it doesn´t make sense for someone to post pics or vids in the sections, if it won´t be on the download list...and if it will, it will take a lot of time...

And guess what ? If nobody has to say "thank you" or "you get 10" or " I like your work" anymore, then I think, the number of people, who post pics and vids will fall, cause you can download, but don´t have to thank for it...take, but you don´t have to give anything.

Very sad, I think :(

Not so. Way too many were simply showing up to grab the free stuff, without a so much as a thank you. So what use were those members. They simply took and gave nothing back. So what now they won't come back, Who cares, they won't be missed any way.

I think if the posters share their work with us, we should have the opportunity to say "thank you", now it´s right, that new users, who only want to download, often forgot it to say "thank you" :rolleyes: and the rule of 25 posts minimum was a great solution to make the community stronger, I think
