From my experiences with my three girls, their tailholes are really clean. Unless, of course, they had just gone #2. I had just licked my chow/shepherd's booty hole and then she had to go poop. When she came back, I could tell because she had some still on her butt. So, I make sure that she hasn't just gone within the last 30 minutes. Any longer amount of time than that, I go for it.
