Lately, there have been a lot of posts about what some of you have decided are "time wasters" or "fakes", as well as posts that suggest how one should behave and what one should expect from others.

Let's all get off our high horses, and get in the real world. Let's get some realistic expectations of what we're going to find on this site. You'll find some very geniune people who are serious about meeting others. But, you'll also find people who are curious and clueless.

As with any other site, there will be those who only come here to gaze in fascination, hoping someone will give them a glimpse into a very intimate part of life. There are those who are simply here to get off.

Whatever the reason for posting here, EVERYONE has a right to post their desires here, unless they infringe on the rules or someone else's privacy.

Can we please stop wasting time lecturing others on what they say or how they go about looking for what they want? If you aren't interested in meeting someone because of what they posted, then don't!!

As a message board on the internet, any visitor is free to say whatever they want as long as it does not break any national, state, or city laws or any rules set forth by the administrators of the particular web site.

This does not make it /right/ to spam said board with off-topic messages promoting one's self interest. You do not allow people to come in here flooding boards with advertisements to make a profit, so why would should someone be allowed to flood a board for sex?

Look at it this way...

Say you're at the library looking for a book to read in your spare time. Let's assume you're interested in murder mysteries. Unfortunately, every mystery novel you open in this establishment is littered with pages telling you about science fiction, fantasy, and biography novels that you have absolutely no interest in. After having to sift through each book page by page to piece together your story, you would grow frustrated and leave the library. If not, you've got some remarkable patience, a lot of time on your hands, or you're the one writing the ads in all my mysteries.

When people like myself complain about these things, we're just trying to get people to understand that what they're doing is making this forum very frustrating to navigate. Okay, so they're just trying to make some friends and have some fun... That's what the personal ads and dating section is for, right? It would just be a hell of a lot nicer if people simply had some respect for their fellow board members and contributed to topics, rather than advertising themselves.

I'd hope that you would understand my standpoint.
