Ch5

--battle to the death--

I went outside to test the extent of my vision, Kel was sleeping not far from where I was sleeping.

This took me by surprise, seeing how it was able to eluded what was seemingly certain death. The owl flew away dumfounded and still without a morsel of food to look forward to during it’s supper, quite a fitting end to that really.

I was about to call it a success and leave when I heard a loud banshee like shriek come from the direction of my burning target. It was louder than any sound I had ever heard before, it sounded like the devil himself had conjured this behemoth of a sound . My increased hearing only made it worst, I had to cover my ears, it felt like they where going to burst right out. My vision was going blurry and I had a hard time keeping my balance.

“fuck…god damn this shit” At the top of my voice.
“bitch shut the fuck up” I then pulled out my arrow, and shot one at what ever it was. The arrow flew devouring the distance between us like a flame on a dry piece of hay. Though not as fast as earlier, given my lack of concentration.

Once I regained my senses, I could see it better. It looked half dragon half something else, from the waist where the typical scales of a dragon. Blue scales at the waist point with slow progression to yellow which where at the lower part of it’s legs.
It’s upper body was covered in a thick fur, which caught in the wind looked pretty intimidating. The color was of a crimson red, fused with a Safire blue and it had on his wrist a pair of golden wrist bands. It had the face of a dragon and a pony tail of the same color as the rest of his fur. Quite hot somehow, if we weren’t going to be in a conflict.

Ch6-when love ties end

“halt…stay back” a guard shouted, putting up his hands to stop my progress. I knew things where bad, I started to cry hard and sobbing aloud as I forced my way through the sea of guards.
“someone stop him he mustn’t see” another one exclaimed, but it was to late I had already entered the room. I fell to my knees the whole room was torn apart scanning the room I saw Kel’s body, scrunched up where I had lost consciousness for the second time. His body lifeless and still, I crawled over to his laying body it was cold to the touch. He must have gone through so much pain his corpse was shredded, gashed from head to toe.
“you bastard” I screamed
“why did you haft to do this… why did you haft to die…and for me” I was now holding onto his soulless body, and crying into his chest.

“I thought you loved me…so why did you haft to leave me alone here” my clear tears mixing with his red blood, I picked up his right hand and touched it to my face.
“you said you’ll be here for me forever…you lied you bastard” my white clothes where died red.
“why you throw me aside…I could have helped you…we’d still be together” I felt a part of me die then, I ached all over but none of that pain compared to the one I felt in my heart. I wanted to die, I couldn’t be alone again. I cried like a baby I had never felt this kind of pain before.
“now that your gone who will comfort me…and help me sleep at night…who will make whole again…why couldn’t it be me…huh why be a hero and die”

“we where suppose to get away…and live In peace” I brought his face to mine , his eyes where still wide open but the look in his face that use to stop time, only laid silent and emotionless.
“this was suppose to be a quick stop…it’s my fault we stayed here…it’s my fault your dead…I killed you not that beast” I was a complete wreck my reason for living had drained away.
“I’m sorry for you Tom” Urik entered the room, tears slowly flowing from his eyes.
“I feel your pain…he was a great guy”
“no you don’t…I loved him…you just met him…you could never know how I feel…don‘t even pretend” I yelled out loud, my voice was muffed by me crying.
“come on man lets go” patting me on the back
“go away…let me be…I can’t leave yet…I need to stay longer”
“this is unhealthy”
“you didn’t just loose your loved one…so back off” I snapped
“fine I’ll let you be” frustrated he left the room, his guards followed him down the stairs.

Sobbing uncontrollably in the silence alone.
“looks like I’m going to haft to be alone again” the full magnitude had not yet set in
“what’s next…what do I do now” my throat was strained and crackled whenever I spoke. He had a bracelet, without hesitation I removed it and put it on. It was gold and had a charm it was a half moon quite ironic really, it was his prized possession.
“at least I’ll always have something to remember you” I wrapped his arms around me one last time.
“we’ll sleep together one last time and then it’ll be a while till I see you again” crying into his ear as if I was still trying to talk to him.
“good night Kel…I love you…I’ll miss you” I cried myself to sleep.
