This is my first story, so don't give me to bad critic, Ok ^_^ ? Also, it's pretty much (Okay, very much) fantasy in this one, so be prepared for that.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was reading a book when it happened. It took me by surprise, and at first I didn't know what it was. The book I was reading was some kind of science fiction love story with a lot of strange happenings. But that's actually not important. The important thing was that suddenly, when I was reading my book, a big flash come out of nowhere and hit the tree outside my window.
But wait. I have not told you who I'm yet. So let's pause my story a bit, so I can introduce myself. My name is Simon, and I'm 22 years old. I'm about normal size, I have got brown hair and I'm pretty thin. I'm not married, and I have actually never had a girlfriend. Why? The answer I think is that I never really got in love with someone. Not saying anybody haven't got in love with me though. I have broken many young women heart when I have told them that I don't feel for them as they feel for me.
I'm studying at the university at the moment, and someday I hope to become some sort of biologist. I have always loved animals, especially horses. Another thing I have always loved is to read. Especially I love reading fantasy. I have always loved reading about dragons, unicorns and all the other fantasy animals, even though I know they aren't real (Event though I have always wished they were, and still does).

But now it's time to return to my story. As I said, the flash had hit a tree outside my window. The flash was white, and it lasted a lot longer than any other flash I have ever seen. And it was much bigger too, but neither didn’t it make any sound when it had hit the tree. A third, very odd, thing with this flash was that it wasn't a cloud on the sky. Actually, the sun was shining outside and it hadn't been cloudy for over 1 week now. But the flash had come anyway, from where I didn't have a clue, and now it had hit a tree in my garden. I expected the tree to begin burning, but it didn't. I stood at the window for about 5 minutes or so, waiting to see if anything more to happen. I waited a bit longer before I begin to move myself. I thought to myself that I must be dreaming. I pinched my skin to see if I had perhaps fallen asleep while reading the book, but I felt the pain, and I didn't wake up. So I decided to walk out of my pretty big living room, to the hall and put on my shoes and my jacket. Then I opened the door, went out, and closed and locked it after me.

At this time I lived a few miles outside a little town in the middle of Sweden. To this little city it was maybe around a half a mile, and I did most often ride my bike to it when I needed. I didn't own any car, because almost all my money went to either the house, food or for my studies.
When I entered my garden and looked at the tree, I didn't notice nothing un-normal. Curious as I'm, I stepped closer. The tree was a old, thick and high birch, and it stood a bit to the left of the entrance door. I thought to myself "Simon, you must have been dreaming...You must have hallucinated about that flash."
I continued to slowly approach the tree, carefully watching where I sat my foots. When I had taken a few steps, I stopped and thought to myself "Why I'm sneaking on a tree?". I began to walk in normal pace towards the tree. When I was just a few steps away from the tree I saw that the tree hadn't been left totally un-hurt. I saw a long crack in the tree that went from the base of the tree to about 2 and a half meter above where it started. I was now very close to the tree, and I stopped. I begun stretching my arm out to check how deep the crack went, when the crack begun to expand. I quickly moved to what I thought was a safe distance, about 3 meters away, and waited to see what should happen next. The crack kept expanding, and now I saw that it deep was about 1 and a half meter. But it was something else that catch my attention at first; the crack seemed to glow in different colours. Suddenly, it stopped expanding. The crack was now about 1 meter wide, and I slowly approached it.
“This is to good to be true”, I thought to myself, “This must be a teleport. Maybe there is a bit of truth behind all those tales and fantasy books. If I’m really lucky, I might end up meeting a unicorn if I step through that port.”
Curious as I was (And probably much because of all those fantasy books I have read in my life), I entered the crack.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That was all for now. I will continue this later in new posts in this thread. Please post and say what you think of it, and remember that this my first story and just my 6:th post.

Here is part two of The unicorns in the woods (Yes, I know I forgot a "s" as in "unicorns" in the title of this topic):

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't feel anything strange at all when my foot entered the teleport, so I sat it down in it. Then I lifted my other foot, and went forward.
There was no "zap", no colours floating around you and neither the world turned around as in the most of the books I had read. Instead, I was sure of that if I hadn't seen the teleport, I wouldn't have noticed that I had entered one. I didn't feel any special when I went through it. The only thing that happened was that the world changed around me. From being a sunny garden, it become a big forest. All around me stood high trees, which I couldn't remember that I had seen ever before. They had big leaves shaped as stars. It was neither warm or cold in the forest, maybe about 20 degrees C? On the ground there was grass and alot of strange flowers that I had never seen before.
I stood below one of those big trees, looking for a path or a sign or anything else that maybe could give me a clue to where I should go. But there was no clues that could help me soloving that problem as I could see right now. I asked myself what to do now. While I was thinking about that I sat down in the green grass, that was a bit higher than the grass at home. The grass also seemed to have much thicker grassstraws. When I sat there, thinking about what to do next, I investigated the surroundings one time more, but still I didn't found anything that could help me with my problem.

I sat there for about 5 minutes, before I decided just to go straight forward to see what should happen. I stood up, and started to walk. The sun was shining through the leaves that was high above me, and I begun to feel myself calm and peacefull. Even the fact that the teleport had disappeared by now didn't destroy that feeling. I kept walking pretty slow, passing by tree after tree after tree. I wondered how for how long I would need to go on like this before something happened. Of course something happened when I thought that. I stopped and looked at the thing that had caught my attention; A little, wooden sign about 15 meters from me. I walked closer, and read:
"Are you heading for Folsys? Then just go 200 meters to the right from here".

I became happy, because now I had something to head for. The fact that I maybe never should return to my own world hadn't struck me yet. Maybe because I didn't want to think about my home right now, and maybe because that what was happening now was what I had always dreamt of.
I turned to the right, and walked in that direction. It didn't take long before I saw a lot of houses between the trees that was in fron of me. I started to increase the speed with which I was aproaching the houses with. I walked faster, to then start running. After just a few minutes I stopped at the village Folsys end.

Folsys was made of about 30 houses, that was placed between the trees. The houses was all pretty small and all had just one floor. There wasn't any doors, just a open entrance that was about 1 and a half meter wide and maybe 3 meters high. The houses had windows, and some of them was opened. The houses had either two colours; black or white. In between the houses small streets went, that often turned to not collide with any of the houses. The streets was made of sand, and when I checked at the sand I saw alot of hooves-prints in the sands. Alot of horses had gone here recently, and all of them had headed towards the middle of the city. I decided to follow the prints in the sand, and went into Folsys streets.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I hope that you liked this chapter. More is comming soon. As you see I like to write short chapters, but the new chapters are added pretty fast instead.
And thank you Dragonic49 for the good critic :D.

Thank you very much, mach and Holagf!
Here's part 3 of The unicorns in the woods:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As I entered the street, I could have a closer look at the houses. They seemed to be made of a strange stone material. It looked like they was made of just one piece of this material, that later had been crafted in some way to the house it was now. When I passed by the opening to the first house I could see how the house looked like inside. The walls were white, and so was the roof too. On the floor lay a lot of hay that was even laid. In the middle of this house floors hay it was a pretty big hole in the hay, as if something, or someone, had lain there.
As I passed by more houses, I noticed that the colour of the inside of the house depended on the colour of the outside of the house. All houses were black or white, and it had the same colour on the inside as on the outside. It looked like there was no system of where the black and where the white houses was placed in Folsys. They looked like they were placed by random.
As I made my way into Folsys, I noticed that the street became wider. But still I didn't see any of the inhabitants of the city. But I was now sure of that it was unicorns. I knew that many, if not all of them, had walked to the middle of the city, so I kept walking in that direction. The street turned a lot of times around houses that was in the way, but it did always, shortly after the turn, turn in the right direction again.
I walked like this for about 10 minutes, until I made a last turn around a big, white house and saw Folsys centre. It was a big square, shaped like a circle. It was flowing in sunlight, since it wasn't any trees in Folsys, and therefore no leaves that could stop the sun's beams. I could count to 6 streets that lead to this square, but all was smaller than the one that I had walked on. Around the square laid the biggest houses in the town.
I stood on a high-raised platform of some sort, like a scene, that was made of that strange stone material. But neither of this was the first thing that I noticed. Instead, that was all the unicorns that were bowing before me.

There were both big and small unicorns, with long and short horns, with long tails or manes or with short tails and manes. There were black unicorns and there were white ones. And all of them were bowing before me.
At first I just stood there, taken by surprise. I knew that I was going to meet unicorns, but not this many! It was maybe 100 of them here! I thought to myself “What should I do now?”
First of all, I shut my mouth that had been opened for some seconds, after the surprise to find all these unicorns. Then I began to speak, with a very un-firm voice:

“Eh…Hello! I’m Simon, and I’m human. Do you speak English?”
We only speak unicornish, it sounded as 100 voices had spoken in my head. “Ok, they talk like this, using telepathy.” I thought to myself.
Of course we do, the answer came. They could read my thoughts. I still felt a little bit nervous. And I was a little bit afraid too, since the unicorns could see what I thought. Maybe they could see what I felt too. I started speaking to them again.
“You don’t need to bow for me. I’m just a normal human. I guess you haven’t seen any of us before?” The unicorns raised their heads while they answered.
We don’t get many visits from the other place. You’re the first one for a few hundred years. And bowing is something we do to grate strangers.
So I’m the not the first human here, I thought.
“So when was the last visit?”
About 300 years ago. Most often it’s about 500 years in-between.
“Okay”, I said. One of the unicorns that stood at the front began walking to me. It was a large female unicorn, with a tall horn that seemed to glow in the sunlight. She stepped up on platform, and then she walked to me.
You’re very welcome to stay with us, Simon the human. Her voice sounded beautifully in my head. She had a voice that sounded like nothing else I had ever heard before.
“I would be glad to stay here.” I answered her un-asked question.
Good. We’re very happy that you have decided to stay with us. I could hear that she wasn’t lying; her voice sounded brighter and lighter, almost as she was going to laugh.
My name is Massrié, Simon. I’m the leader of the unicorns that live in Folsys. If you want, you could stay at my house. It’s the second white one to the left, she said to me. Then she looked out over the other unicorns, and I could hear what she said inside my head:
To celebrate that we have got a visit from the other place, we’re going to do what our race always has done in a situation like this one. Yes, my friends, tonight we’re going to host a party!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As you probalby have guessed, this is my fantasy (That's why it's in the fantasie forum). I love unicorns  .

Although Unicorns are not my most favourite creatures, they are certainly within the top 5. :D

The story is coming along nicely in my opinion. ^_^
I shall patiently wait for part 4 now.

A 10 for you. ;)

Part 4 of The Unicorns in The woods comes here:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Massrié had annouced that there was going to be a party this night, all the unicorns cheered. The unicorns started to chat with eachother, and then they did soon start to split up and leave the square.
So what you want to do? I heard Massrié ask me.
“I don’t know. Maybe we should take a little walk?” I answered.
Sure. I can show you Folsys if you want to.
“I would love to do that.”. Massrié walked down to the square, and I soon followed. We began to chat a little, and soon I had learnt alot of the unicorns and the way they lived their lives.

Massrié told me that the humans that came to Folsys never returned to “the other place”, as the unicorns called our world. She also told me about the mystical housematerial. Everytime a house was needed, maybe because a unicorn wanted to move away from his or her parents and have a own house, it always appeaed a new one. And if someone moved from a house to another one, the old house disappeared. None had ever found out how this magic worked, or if it was magic at all. But the unicorns didn’t actually care, because it was pretty practical to not need to build new houses or destroy old ones.
The unicorns ate berries and leaves hat they found in the woods, and Massrié told me that if I became bored of berries, there was alot of rabbits and deers in the woods. Massrié also told me that the human that had been here before me had brought a bow and alot of arrows, and that a friend of her had that hunting equipment in her house.

As we walked through the streets of Folsys I decided to ask Massrié a question that I had wondered about for a time now.
“How comes that it was just me that got the opportunity to come here?”
From the stories that the humans who have come here has told ous we have found out that it is only those who always have wanted to meet unicorns that land here. And sad enough, there isn’t so many of your race that seems to be intrested to meet ous. That’s also why we’re going to celebrate that you have come to ous tonight, because we’re so happy that a new unicorn will join ous soon.
“I have always wanted to meet uni...” I began to say. Then I stopped, thinking for a moment. Had she said a new unicorn? Me=a new unicorn? I asked her what she meant.
haven’t I told you already? Oh, I’m sorry. Let me tell you now then. When a human comes here, he or she is human for a while, and then, after maybe a week or so, he or she is transformed into an unicorn. Massrié sounded like this was the most natural thing in the world. Now I knew why humans that came here never returned to their home world again. They would probalby just be caught and then be putted into a zoo or something. Then they would just live the rest of their lives inside a cage, with other humans staring at them all day.
Myself, I looked pretty much forward into becomming an unicorn, but I must say that I was a bit afraid of it. I wanted to know more about how this transformation went, so I asked my new unicorn friend about it.
“How exactly does this transformation wents? How long does it go on?”
Nobody knows how or for how long it goes on. But it takes less than one night, because it always happens at the night. Or that is was the books about humans that has visited ous says. The human goes to bed, and when he or she wakes up, he or she is an unicorn. And they have never noticed anything special over the night. , Massrié told me.
We had now stopped walking. We stood just outside Folsys south side. Massrié had told me that I had come from the north. In the north there were just alot of trees, in the east there were a lake, in the west laid the mountains and to the south there was more woods.

I decided to take a closer look on Massrié. She was about the same size as me, just a tiny bit smaller. All of her was blending white, and her horn seemed to glow in diffrent shades of white. Her tail was long; it stretched all the way to her hooves. Her mane was long too. She had blue, intellectual eyes which she right now used to look out over the southern woods with.
Her horn was twisted, and it was long to; it was about 30-40 centimeters long.

What you say about heading to my house now? I can show you it, but I will soon need to start with the party preparations. , Massrié said inside my head.
“I would love to see your house.” Massrié started to walk back into the city, and I followed her.

Soon we arraived at her house. It was a white house, that was about “normal unicorn-house” size. It was maybe about 15*15 meters, and it was about 2,5 meters to the roof. There were 3 pretty big windows, two of them facing west and one facing north. The opening was facing east.
It’s maybe not so much to see. Usually we unicorns just spend the night in our houses. On the day we eat, talk with our friends, reads or do something else that we think is fun. , Massrié told me.
When she stood in her house like that, showing me around, I walked up to her, because suddendly wanted to touch her. I had always liked to pet animals, and I must say that I was curious about how an unicorn felt like. So I decided to ask if I could pet her.
She looked at me with suprise, and soon I heard her voice inside me, asking me: What is to pet?
“That is when you let your hands rub or go over another creatures skin or fur to make it feel nice for that creature.” I answered.
Try it on me. It sounds nice.
I reached out my hand, and I felt her warmth. She felt like a horse, but softer and more smooth. And she was warmer too. I began to pet her, and I could hear how Massrié was enjoying it: Mmmmm...That was really nice...Keep it on...Really nice...

As I stood there petting Massrié I began to feel something strange. It felt like I was beginning to like Massrié more and more.
At this point I was pretty sure of that my relationship to her would soon evolve into something more than just a friendship...And it seemed like she was pretty sure of that too.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, now it’s becomming a bit hotter, isn’t it? Part (Chapter doesn’t sound as good as part when it comes to this story, I think :P) 5 is soon to be released! So keep tuned :)
