Jacob studied the oceans and their currents, he studied the habitat of his favored beasts. Squid.. it was more fascinating that they were so intelligent and keen on giving pleasure to one another. Jacob spent months studying the breeding habits and at last devised a plan to get even with a few college girls that mocked him and his research. First he had to establish a company that would lure the girls into working with him then he would devise a plan to take the next step into forcing them to lower their defenses and become aquamarine sluts. Even the thought of them writhing on a long tentacle made Jacob grin. So he started to work at making his diabolical plan a reality. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It had been nine years since Katy and Melba graduated from the college, neither really majoring in anything particular but both having many minors to keep them from being bored in any one given form of employment. Melba walked into the kitchen wearing just a short t and a lacy black thong "Hey I just read an ad in the paper about a marine facility looking for techs to help nurse some injured sea turtles and dolphins back to health to be re-released into the wild." Katy snatched the paper from her friend and breezed over the ad circled. "Oh Wow... sixty k annually with a five year contract... must submit references and health card prior to employment... marine experince or education given first priority. Shit this job was made for us." * to be continued)

"Where is the interview again?" Melba asked hunting the nearest airport online. Katy grazed over the informative letter. "Aunu'u Island west of Tutulia Island." Melba screamed when her Google search opened to the Pacific Islands. "Girl' we're gonna be living in heaven... we're in the South Pacific Island group. Hallelujah I'm packin lots of sunscreen." Katy walked over and looked at the map and nodded. "Well how are we going to get there?" Melba typed in more information and discovered that the nearest airport wasn't much closer. "Hell it don't even go to Pago Pago." Katy sat down as Melba went after some iced tea and started to type "Looks like we go to Apia, then hop over to American Samoa, taxi from airport to Pago Pago, and call Mr. Edmunton for some assistance." Katy read further into the site about the time changes and some of the languages. Thankfully they both had passports from a Mexican trip after their third year of college but the airline tickets would be a huge crunch on the budget. "Oh hell.. the tickets are going to cost over twenty-three hundred dollars a piece." Katy complained. "Honey.. we're going to be making sixty k a year.. who gives a shit about a couple grand." Melba remarked. "What about our flat?" Katy asked. "Got it covered..... We sublet.. I told Jennie and Stuart that we were on a five year contract.. needed the place kept in order... checked their references and they move in next week the day before we should leave for our new job." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The next ten days kept the girls very busy as they packed - what was going and what was in the attic . Jennie also dropped over to help the girls sort things out and get last minute instructions on the other important parts of their lives. Melba always be one step ahead had Jennie and her boyfriend sign a five year agreement about subletting the place. Once everything was set in stone and legalized Katy began to relax about making the move. Finally the day arrived and Katy was driving to the airport with Jennie and Stuart behind them. Katy was trying to stay positive about the new changes and even laughed a few times before the actually departure from home. Little did they know was that would be the last time anyone that knew them would see them again. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jacob on the other hand was still planning more and more as he awaited the call from the airport. It was twenty minutes after take off that his private detective called. "Sir, Westen here... those ladies you had hired me to watch over have purchased tickets to Apia, Samoa." "Wonderful, the funds were deposited this morning. I shall keep you in mind on my next investigation should one ever arise." Jacob replied then smiled as things were in motion. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Katy nearly freaked when they disembarked in Los Angeles and learned that there was an eight and a half hour wait before flying to Apia. Melba took it in stride and suggested that they do a little shopping while waiting. After some heavy prodding and fast talking she had Katy heading to the doors for the shuttle to a certain motel. Melba knew from there they could shop for at least five hours before needing to get back to the airport. By the time the pair returned to the shuttle pick up it was well after nine at night. Katy was upset that they had missed the last shuttle. "No prob, girlfriend. TAXI!" Melba whistled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ They paid the driver his thirty dollars and raced to the front desk. "We're on the flight to Apia, which gate should we be at." "Seven J.. down the east hall fourth entry hall after the second set of double doors." came the reply. Melba grabbed her bags as Katy did hers and they took off. Katy paused long enough to buy a large flight bag to pack all of their new things in before the stewardess made the first boarding call. Once abroad the nonstop to Apia Katy felt secure enough to relax again. In about six hours they would land in Apia.. get a hopper flight to Pago Pago, then call their new employer. What Katy didn't realize was the time zones would catch her and she slept most of the flight what she thought was six hours was actually over ten. Melba was too excited to do much sleeping as she went to the travel agent to arrange the hopper flight. Strangely enough she found a fellow that was taking a helicopter to the very island they needed to go to. "I don't know how we managed to get so lucky." Melba quipped. "maybe because I am your employer?" Jacob looked into Melba's surprised face and grinned. "When you didn't contact me I called your flat.. the young man said you flew out about an hour before my call. I knew you would arrive now so I came to rescue you both." Katy smiled wearily as she tugged the heavy suitcases. Jacob asked a porter to help get them to the heliport. While they waited he took them to the airport cafe to unwind slightly. "I recently acquired four more invalids. Two are going to be totally isolated as the wounds are too severe and the others might think they are lunch." Jacob said with a wayward smirk. "So what kind of hours are we working? Eight.. ten.... somewhere in there?" Melba asked. Jacob smirked. "Why sun up to sun down, my dear... these creatures don't have jobs that have set hours.. their needs are like an infants.. we meet the demand.. no matter how long it takes." Katy took a sip of her juice and asked "Well how many hours is that regularly?" "Sixteen or so." Jacob replied, chortling inside that neither of them recognized or seemed to remember him from college.. this revenge was going to be delightful all the way. "Well if you ladies are finished we should take off while the skies are clear." Jacob stood and placed the money on the table. The pair nodded and proceeded to follow him to the helicopter. Once they stepped through the glass doors Katy glanced to the darkening skies. "Is that a bad sign?" She asked nervously. "Only if we are caught between islands." Jacob replied as he opened the door. Both girls climbed in and buckled into the belts. Jacob started the engine and the rotter started churning making a loud buzzing noise. Jacob put on the over sized ear phones and made contact to the tower for take off. After a few clicks the helicopter began to rise off the pad and take to the air. Both girls pointed to the dots below in the blue landscape. A few times Melba was sure that she saw shark fins before the signs of a large island came into view. "There she is, ladies." Jacob shouted loudly "The Healing Tank." Both glanced down at the huge pool that housed several dolphins. Katy made a squeal as one jumped from the water made a flip and dropped down into the water. "That's Joplin." Jacob told them as he turned the nose towards the heliport. "She is due to be released in a few days." The landing felt bumpy and both Melba and Katy banged their heads getting out of the cockpit. Jacob being the veteran flyer knew to duck but they didn't and he sought to comfort them quickly. Jacob lead them up a flight of stairs to the main building. "This is the training center. We bring the young here to train to do as they would in the wild. We use scuba tanks to teach some fish the right kind of predators to avoid. Some larger fish are tagged to help research the migration patterns as well as life span." "Are some dangerous?" Melba asked getting curious. "We've housed a nurse shark before." Jacob admitted noticing them both shiver. "But those are housed in the shark tank in the next bunker. Which is empty presently." "How do the sharks and other creatures get here.?" Melba asked. "Animal Rescue brings them.. some are lucky to be spotted by fishing boats.. I have went on call and air lifted a few back to the hospital." Jacob smiled as they walked to the fourth bunker. "We get some from small aquariums in the area." Both oohed and ahhed the sights of all the marine creatures that were considered docile until the last tank that housed four young squid. "These are our new invalids... three male and one female. Spotted off the coast of Japan, looks like they managed to get away from a sperm whale. Due to their present condition I have to keep them separated from others so they can heal." That was when one slipped a arm over the edge hoping to be fed and lightly brushed Katy's arm. "Tomorrow we'll have to get blood samples." Jacob smirked as he lead them onward to the bunkhouse.
