It would be incredibly difficult to spread any disease from an animal to a human by simply sex... That is of course disregarding certain ones like Rabies lime disease, and the others listed in the quoted post, but some of those don't even need to be sexually transmitted. A simple bite will do it for Rabies and Lime Disease Humans and Dogs are different species, in such our DNA is VERY different. Most diseases (notice I say MOST not all) are not compatible with both species, meaning one species can contract the disease and the other cannot. The reason AIDS is believed to come from monkeys (the African Green Monkey) is of course because monkeys and humans are both primates. We have different DNA, but enough similarity so that a lot of diseases can be transfered from one to another. I would say though, not to worry about it. Take proper caution of course with the animals you choose to be with sexually... Take them for check ups before you become active. But remember that it's not a common thing. People on this board have had sex tons of times with their animals, and they're still around. This post has been edited by HeartlessDeity on Aug 2 2007, 09:42 PM |

I'm glad someone made a post about this topic.
I had been thinking about this in the back of my mind for some time now. So I very glad to hear that my loves, K-9's, are not very harmful to me at all. Thank you for the post. |

its perfectly healthy ... at least with horses i know there are a couple flu like diseases you can catch but they are very very rare ... the biggest health risk i can think of is getting kicked :P

it is very easy to tell if a gorse is sick as the are very fragile when it comes to diseases. ie an upset stomach (colic) and it's game over, lights out(not in the good way either.) i would be more worried about my animal getting sick than me |

yea, theres nothing really you could catch other then if you have an allergic reaction.
Be smart and safe, and I seriously doubt you could catch anything from an animal if its well kept |

I think that having sex with heifers that are healthy and have had their shots is a very healthy practice. |

A dog's vagina can carry aids for 24 hours is all I know... But I doubt your dogs will be swimming in any aids infested blood for the most part.
So I'd deem it pretty safe.. Safer than sex with humans, that's for sure. |

Been a long time,
I recently had sex with a mare and now I believe I've got something. I'm circumcised and around the rim there are these tiniest little bumps. For all I know that's perfectly normal, but now I notice that some of those bumps are now red. Also a few days after I had sex with the horse I got a zit on my penis too. . .I popped it and it's never come back. . .but I can tell that it's still there. . .waiting to get infected again. And well the last thing, and please, someone tell me if this has happened to you or if you've done what I've done. I made myself erect and then I squeezed my penis half-way up so the blood would all goto my head and make it even bigger. I was doing this so those little bumps I first mentioned would get bigger too, so I could take a closer look. Well it worked. . . so after I was satisfied looking at myself and I put my little buddy away I went back to work. Well, then a couple hours later I was going to the bathroom and notice that I have red spots on the shaft and head of my penis, from the place I grabbed and up.. . . just like a hicky. . . and I suppose that's what I've done to myself. . . I just gave my penis a hicky. . . err sorta. The only thing is. . .I've done this to my penis before and I don't remember the red spots. . .They are spots, not bumps. . .and they are only on the skins surface. Has anything like this happened to you guys? Please, I'm a little scared. It's been hours now and they are still there. One more thing. I didn't wash the horses genital areaf and when I was done I noticed my penis got quite dirty and I could see a dirt ring around my little buddy. . . I heard horses can have parasites so I should always wash them before I went going doing anything with them. . . Now this was all vaginal. . .yet I know that dirt on her vagina was not just any kinda dirt. . . I knew better. . .but it was all in the moment and well. . .I was careless and this is what I get. Should have used the warm rag with bleach method. . shoulda just not done anything at all. But I gave in to my desires. So anyhow. . . Any helpful incite? I'm a little afraid to goto the dermatologist. Yet I will if you guys don't have any answers. It's been almost a month from my experience and those tiny red bumps are still there and well. . .I'd post a picture but a mod would have to give my permission I think. . .so I'm not going to post one. :) Okay thanks, MCM |

 I wish I could be of help to Marecomare, but I don't have experience with horses. I sense that he has very serious concerns regarding his condition--I don't blame him. I suppose I would consider going to the doctor for a check up. He probably should indicate that it might be something he picked up from a human sex partner. I'm not very good at giving advice, but this is the only suggestion I could come up with. There are a lot of very thoughtful and compassionate members here, that hopefully can offer some advice. At least my response will bump this up where it has a better chance of being responded to. In the meantime, I hope things work out for Marecomare.

I would think its safer than human sex in many ways, not as many diseases, no jealous other relations, (well maybe not if your special other is jealous of your animal rendevous). and your animal friend wont give out embarrasing details to coworkers and friends.

Probably some do, especially if other people are doing what it is you might be doing to contract it. That said, animals probably don't have as many human diseases. Whatever it is, there's a risk, and you'd protect the same way, using a condom...
This is more of a male precaution though, lol. I don't know what girls would do... condoms for pooches? Lol. I'm thinking it'd have to be way different since they actually have their skeleton in there. |

well hrmmm i guess it is healthy as long as it does not become an obsessive thing. i mean forgetting about work and family and friends would then make it an unhealthy thing. maybe even if your mate has a problem with the amount of time you spend with the animal companion compared to the time spent with "special someone"
i guess i see it more as fun and games rather than a sexual relationship with your animal friend. i do not think it a wise thing to do often once a couple bring children into the world. too many risks at that point. i mean every other month maybe. but in this day and age anything is possibble and one must take every precaution |
