Certainly, why not? All the terms mean is that you are sexually interested in the same sex or the opposite sex (or both, if you'r bi). If you happen to be a male interested in female animals, you are straight - a straight zoophile.

The interesting part is that it seems not uncommon for people's animal preferenc to be different from their human preference - for example, it seems like a considerable number of male zoos are straight with humans, but bi or gay with animals.

I've wondered about that too.. not that it matters either way, but it is interesting...

Does it really bother you that much too know? I found that most real zoos and beasties don't really care about that reference. Within zoo circles some people make a big deal about it, but I find its mostly those that are not practitioners but only voyeurs. In that sense then do the opinions of a group outside looking in really that important to you?

I think it's because a lot of guys are afraid of being gay, or at least afraid of being thought of as gay. When I was younger, a male friend of mine and I did some experimenting together, but we would never discuss it or even really acknowledge it, because we thought if we did, it might mean we're gay. We're both long over that, thank god, and freely acknoweldge that we are *bi* (a distincting that seems harder for men to make than women - maybe because male homosexuality has more stigma than female?).

With animals, it's a bit different. I think the fact that it is human-animal sex is, for most people, the most significant factor. So a human male who has sex with a male animal is primarily a zoophile, and only secondarily gay or bi. I'm not sure I agree with this view, but it seems to me that many men hold it. It's *safer* for one's heterosexuality to play with male animals that human males - once you involve a human, it becomes psychologically more complex, since human society and cultural values are so complex. With animals, non of those apply.

Then again, I'm sure there are plenty men who are simply turned on my male animals (or their equipment) and not human males (just as vice versa). I also think there should be a differentiation made between bi people who enjoy sex with the same gender, or fully bi people, who like to have relationships with both. I'm one of the former - some naughty play with another guy can be fun, but I could never even kiss one, much less have a relationship with one. So I am only sexually bi. When it comes to love and romance and kissing and cuddling, I stick with the ladies. ;)

Good points.

One way I've put it is, I'm not interested in a human penis because I already have one and I check it frequently. (I have this occasional swelling that requires attention.) But an animal's penis is another story, and no two are the same.

And as I've said in other threads, checking out a male animal can be like Hey, nice stuff, bro!

I don't think human and animals relationships reflect on each other. If your a guy and are only attracted to women, then your straight. Just because a guy gets aroused by the sight of a male dog's erect or cuming cock, doesn't mean he's attracted to men.

I'm a bifem, yet I have little or no interest in female animals. Although I wouldn't turn down a chance to play with a mare.

Labels have an awful lot of meaning for us as humans, plus - we all want some measure of acceptance (though it's more importnat to some than to others).

And it's not as though the lables are not without any hidden meanings (eg "Straight" as oppposed to what? "Crooked?")

Suffice it to say that I am a sexual being - and a highly sexual one at that. Does that meant hat I'm interested in getting into everyone's pants? No - definitely not... and not the other way round either. Do I think about it? well, mebbe.

Of course, it's just my .02.

If you're calling yourself straight to avoid having the label of gay, then I personally don't see the point in that. Unless you have a reason to actively deceive someone so they never know or suspect a different sexual orientation, there's no point in trying to fool yourself with meaningless labels.

However, if you're exclusively attracted to females, then I see it as acceptable to say you're straight. If you're attracted to female animals, you're just not telling the whole truth, since the typical person will assume a straight guy is attracted to female humans, and not even think about a different species.

As for myself, I just prefer to keep animal and human orientation definitions separate, such as straight with humans AND straight with animals, not a general all-encompassing term. Other people are free to think differently, everyone has their own opinion on the matter.

I do not see the need to lable your self..
Lables ar for people who think they are better to put some one else down.

We have very loved members of the forum who chose one sex or another for companions in both people as well as animals.

Some who are active with one sex of humans are active with the other or both sex in animals.

You want to lable them then call them

Friends and forum members

I do

Why does it matter?

I also don't see the need to label yourself.

If you like one or the other, fine.

If you like both, fine.

Leave it at that.

I would say that if you have no sexual interest in male animals and or male humans, but have a desire for female animals and or female humans, that you would be considered straight.

Does anyone else agree with me that this type of thing is asked at least 5 times a day?

Oh well...

I believe that "gay/straight/bi/lesbian" is concerning humans by default... so I'm "straight" with humans, "bi" with animals...

But I totally agree with rus here... a level does not change anything... point is, the smart thing to do is to beattracted to who you want attracted to, and not care about "what" you are.

I might say that normally men like girls and girls like men..off course there are peopels whit different preferences ,men found happynes in the arms of men, girls felt inlove whit another girls ...to be happy, to felt your heart beating next to the one you love is the most beautiful feeling in ones life , and if you ask me it doesnt matter who is the partner as long as you are both happy ...
Me too i felt in love , of a beautiful , tall , seductive girl..she is a mare, and her name is Ella ... But i am a man , so i'm gealous if i see her whit other "boys" , and somethimes i dont think whit my head when i see other mares aswell... I do consider her my "woman " , my "wife " , maby more than as a mare...i was so lucky to meet her and eventulay to have her ,nothing could have made me more happy than findeing my equine half....

She is the love of my life, i am a man and she is my "girl"...yes ,i could say i'm straight :)
