I thank everyone that has read this story from the beginning to the end. It has been a while and it was amazing. Your support is something that I fully appreciate and grateful of.
It was unbelievable of how extensive this little story has become. What started out as something as a test story has become something extraordinary. Still, this story is nothing compared to some of the other stories written by very talented people whose literary skill is far superior than mine. The final chapter of Traderan X Dragon has been posted below. And with that, I hope you enjoy it. Will I be writing another story? Probably not. Writing a story is easy but writing a GOOD story with decent plotline is very difficult and very time consuming. But we will see though. If time allows in the future, I might start another short story; probably not as lengthy as this one. Thanks again for all your support and hopefully I'll see you all again in another story thread or something. ^_^ ======================= Chapter 23 - Conlusion How would one define Hell? Excessive heat? Absolute torment of eternality? Complete destruction of the surrounding environment? Rotting corpses and sickening stench of death that were like a cluster of suffocating cloud threatening to devour sanity? Within the dragon lands these descriptions certainly fit the scenery that had unraveled itself among the surviving draconic people, the very ones that mourned over the loss of their loved ones. As craters upon craters had relentlessly punched gapping holes in the once-serene forestlands, dragons that were able to move were attempting to rescue any survivors among the battlefield that had extended itself over a thousand miles wide. To many, they could not believe how devastated their homeland had become. To the weaker few, they were so astonished and so petrified at the amount of blood that had stained the earth they were standing on that they could not utter a word. Once the initial shock had dissipated gradually, many of them fell onto the ragged ground littered with forest debris and wept uncontrollably. As fire raged on in many areas, columns of choking black smoke rose high into the hazy sky. It was sunny with a blanket of blueness for an hour or so before a thick sheet of ash began to roll in from the spots that were crackling with flames abroad. A number of dragons were trapped under fallen timbers. Some had their legs crushed and pinned. Others had their wings bent at an agonizing angle with several massive rocks pressing down on them. The younger dragons that were fit to move large boulders away from the riversides were called to assist those that were unable to free themselves from the wreckage. While the males busied with clean up and rescue tasks, the females were trying their best to calm their offspring. It was the first time in thousands of years that a battle had taken place within the dragons' realm. And it was surreal to see the level of obliteration that had occurred just a few hours ago. A group of golden dragons were walking with several others in icy blue scales. Everyone moved aside to let the superior ones through as they eyed Ararez, who was talking intently with Decand. The leader of the golden dragons limped while he kept up the pace with the other people in a persistent and defiant way. Every time one of the golden dragons offered help, Decand swiped at the innocent individual with his tail. He didn't want to appear pathetically fragile. No. Not in front of the Tra Dragons that had saved his people and all other dragon clans. The other fifteen Tra Dragons followed silently, clearly oblivious to the struggle that Decand had just to stay awake and not pass out. Finally stopping in front of a central cave that had an elongated fracture crawling from the edge of the opening to the outward surface of the cliff wall, Decand steadied himself with a hand on the wall. He was out of breath and looked tired. He blinked a few times to get rid of the sweat that had accumulated around his draconic forehead. The blood from the wounds on his body had mixed with the perspiration and dripped down the curvature of his muscles. "How can the Night Beast be hiding in one of the fractures of Time?" the leader of the golden dragons inquired with slight annoyance and disbelief. "He doesn't control Time!" Ararez folded his arms in front of his chest. Gleaming sunlight sparkled along his blue and green scales. His feral look from the new tattoos was intimidating for Decand. "The Night Beast controls the realm of Night. He is the other side of the balance. Without Him, our world, our reality, will be shifting wildly like a pendulum without any forms of control-" "And because of the Night Beast's unique nature, He certainly can control a small amount of Time. He is, after all, using the Time Divine Aura. Cosmotan Nemca, Essencental Nemca...these things don't really exist. All the power that we have within us right now are derived from the Time Divine Aura," the Tra Dragon on Ararez's right then spoke up with a smooth, yet deep, voice. "Night Beast is one of the spirits governing the living world. If we destroy Him, we will destroy ourselves. This is why we exist. We were born for this destiny regardless of the amount of discriminations that we have been facing for years." "I'm sorry to hear that," Decand bowed slightly. "Don't be," the Tra Dragon on Ararez's left held out a hand in a gesture of acceptance. "It is our destiny. No one and nothing can change who or what we are." Asurthi, one of the golden dragon elders, took a step forward. Brownish dirt had covered his body and spots of blood could be seen along his upper torso. Despite the stinging pain, the elder looked to be fierce and confident. His eyes were gazing at Ararez with a hint of authority. "How did you find all these Tra Dragons? Long ago, our scrolls had only mentioned about you. There should be only one of you and not sixteen of you." "Perhaps we should let Decand rest-" the other elders started but were immediately silenced when they saw the look that their leader was giving to them. Ararez laughed a little in light amusement at the display that the golden dragons were presenting. Turning around and extending his arms, he flicked his tail a little and replied: "Fero, Cyith, Mera, Olipus, Arcine, Ashroth, Dextai, Zeroph, Zin, Larden, Silvver, Kila, Udmin, Penthros, and Xerante are from the same clan. They are actually siblings. There are more further back on a remote island many miles away but only these ones are willing to join the battle. The rest have become...secluded, unfortunately. When I first found them, I thought I was going to die because they started attacking me without warning-" "That's because you appeared out of nowhere," Larden grumbled as he looked away at the distant mountains. "-And because I appeared without warning," Ararez completed his sentence. Looking at Decand and the other elders that led the resistance in the Arcelin Village, he continued: "It took me several days to find one of the hidden scrolls that were locked deep in the Forgotten Vault. While I was frustrated at the little progress that I had done studying the ancient spells of the past, I accidentally stumbled upon a loose brick that was located near the end of the chamber. It was radiating a strange aura. Naturally, I was curious and I pulled it out only to discover a lever that could be activated. "The wall on the opposite side of the lever then moved. Dust and other filth covered the room that I was in and I couldn't see anything. When my vision finally cleared up, I saw another smaller area that hadn't been accessed for countless of years. Within it, there was a strange portal-like door being erected by some force in the middle of the chamber. Was it natural or artificial, I did not know. I only learned of its ability after I saw a small bookshelf that contained more scrolls, stating the use of such portal and additional offensive spells that could cause unimaginable of damage if used wrongly. "To make the long story short," Ararez cleared his throat when he noticed that Decand's eyes were closing slightly due to a huge loss of strength, "I found out that Tra Dragon is actually a bloodline created by Nature Herself. A spirit that governs over all. And the portal could be used to travel to the places where the Tra Dragons live. In a way, the portal's energy was tied in synchronization with the Nemca that the Tra Dragons have within them. And that's how I found my companions." Decand nodded as he coughed a little. He was beginning to see double and his breaths were heavy. "Very well. What do you think we should do now?" Fero, the oldest in the family, extended his wings a little to relieve the soreness that was all over his shoulders and back. The shadows created by the arc of the wings draped across his upper body and fell onto the dusty white ground. A thin cloud of dust rolled and curled into the air when he flapped his flying appendages once. "One of the scrolls has talked about creating a secondary gateway that can connect our world with the time fractures. We can create the gateway and flush out Night Beast." "It will be difficult," Ararez interrupted as he shook his head. Gazing at Decand, Ararez continued: "Creating an artificial gateway is a theory that the elemental dragons in the past had made up and not tested. In theory, we would be channeling the aura on this land to create a portal stable enough to enter. Unfortunately, the side-effect would be using up all the magical energy of this land." "What do you mean by that?" Asurthi asked with puzzlement. "It means that the magic as we know it today will cease to exist," Larden looked up and said with a grim tone. "The amount of energy needed will deprive the dragon realm of its entire magical supply. Once the secondary gateway is created, no dragons would be able to cast any spells." "And that's not all," Ararez folded his arms together. "The full effect of the magic leech caused by the gateway would ripple across all lands in the living world. It wouldn't just be the dragons that are affected but even the human lands as well. The entire world would be one where no magic could exist." Decand sucked in a deep breath and heaved it out slowly. The soreness in his chest grew in intensity but he was reluctant to rest. Not when they had a dilemma that needed to be solved. "So you mean it's either waiting for the Night Beast to destroy us or we sacrifice the magic in our world to save all living creatures that dwell on these vigorous lands?" "Exactly. While the options certainly are outrageous, we really don't have a choice," Fero concluded with resolution. -------------------------------------------- The Night Beast roared as he rolled around in pain within the fracture of time. As the swirling background of gold and white constantly tried to increase his pain, his blood leaked out from his burnt wounds in silent protest. The extensive damage dealt by the Tra Dragons was evident. Night Beast couldn't channel his aura as successfully as he could prior to the battle. Now as he floated in the middle of nowhere where the golden rays of light were intimidating him greatly, his night-colored body curled into a ball. His presence within the divine realm of Time was like a speck of dust, an evil entity that was nothing more than a parasite. Night Beast was unwilling to retreat into the one place where he hated the most. Yet, the fracture was the only safe haven where he could recuperate enough so that he could unleash his revenge upon the foolish Tra Dragons that dared to oppose him. Still, the godly energy within the fracture was like acid to him. As the star field of serene brilliance continued to flow past his body, Night Beast attempted to extend his sinister Nemca all over his body as a form of shield against the light. He needed to recover as soon as possible. He needed his strength back. He needed to shatter this celestial realm called Time so that he alone could control the destiny of every living being in the living world. He wanted nothing more than being a ruler of everything. These thoughts fueled his greed and lust for control. And while the heavenly light was a form of counter toward the existence of nightmares that the Night Beast possessed, the ruler of the shadow realm opened up his mouth. The inside of his bloody jaws could be seen clearly. His black fangs were menacing. His snake-like tongue flickered back and forth as he unexpectedly began to swallow the luminosity of Time. If the light wouldn't accept him, he would force it to become part of him. While it was a ludicrous idea, it was frightening practical. The power of light and dark combined together would increase one's power immensely. Yet no one had done it because usually it would result in a destructive implosion within one's body as the conflicting energy from both sides fought to gain dominance over one another. Avariciously merging the dark part of him with the bright side of godliness, the gushing injuries that were present upon the flesh of the Night Beast immediately began to heal themselves. Soon, the structural balance of the Time began to tremble, as the darkness started to expand greatly without any forewarnings. The fracture of Time became vastly unstable when the Night Beast channeled the divine aura throughout his body. The eyes of the Night Beast glowed deep red. A horrible shimmer of darkness and lightness sent out flashes of dark purple lightning across the dimming realm of Time. Before long, the Night Beast was engulfed in a sea of pallid whiteness and a massive shockwave emerged from the central point of the implosion. The reality of Time fracture collapsed like crumbling cookies and the entire area rumbled as if a thousand elephants had rampaged across the barren plain. And throughout the chaos, only the laughter of the Night Beast could be heard. -------------------------------------------- A spiral of energy in verdant green shot into the light orange sky when sixteen Tra Dragons poured forth their Nemca into one focal point. A thick layer of spinning clouds as the beam of green slowly spreading outward and parting the fluffy cottons of gray suddenly covered the clear firmament. Upon the uneven ground was a spell circle created through the blood of Ararez's. When Ararez sent his Nemca through the light, a powerful distortion began to ripple across the lands. Though the spell procedure was conducted far away from the Arcelin Village, the effect could still be felt almost instantaneously as the aura of magic began to bleed away from all elements present and grouped together within the center of the potent green light. Many dragons began to feel weak when invisible distortions were blasted away from the spell circling and rolled across the world. It wasn't long before the mages in the human lands started to realize that their power was being sucked away relentlessly. A few tried to put up a defensive shield, fearing that it was the attack from the Night Beast again. It was then proven to be ineffective, as the shields shattered and vanished into streams of energy that flowed away from the casters. The Tra Dragons bared their fangs while they tried to balance their Nemca into synchronization. Their tails were stiff and their wings were arcing behind their backs. Muscles straining and claws digging deep into the dry earth, the protectors of Time were starting to worry about keeping the spell circle stable. The shadows behind them were started to morph into odd shapes as the essence of elemental magic continued to flow into the eye of the storm. Hurricane-like wind was howling from all directions while the clouds continued to circle around that central column of green light. Before Ararez could complete the procedure with a final push of his Nemca, there was an odd crackling sound that echoed out of nowhere. Without warning, the circle started to erupt from the center. Deep, massive crevasses crawled along the ground in a circular direction. A few Tra Dragon lost their footing as their legs sank into the newly formed fractures along the earth. With their attention divided, they were unable to keep a constant stream of aura. The sea of magical energy shot forward into the middle of the spell formation without any control and then exploded outward in a circle of ice blue color. "Mother of-" Ararez and the others used their arms to cover their faces when the massive shockwave hit them. It was as if a large tree trunk had driven deep into their stomach. Their breath was knocked out of their lungs as they flew backward, riding the wave of destruction that somehow appeared out of nowhere. It was a deafening blast and everyone in the Arcelin Village was blinded for a few long minutes by the searing light in blue that was expanding into miles upon miles of distance. Rocks and trees shot by like arrows and Ararez had to hold onto an ancient evergreen that still had its roots grown deep into the soggy soil. His body flailed helplessly in the gust of the explosion as he squinted against the light. Something went wrong. It was obvious. But why? That was the question. And as the leader of the Tra Dragons pondered about the possible causes of such disastrous failure, he saw a portal glistening within the focal point of the fireball. Knowing that it was bound to collapse within any second, Ararez took in a deep breath and encased himself in a powerful barrier. Using the tree as a support, he planted his feet against the side of the massive trunk and with a prevailing push he launched himself toward the gateway that was created by the entire magical aura in the world. It was like diving into a sea of rocks as he used his barrier to bash aside any flying debris that came into his way. With an arm extended, he pushed himself through the wavering portal just as it closed with a thunderous clap of devastation. For a split second, history sped forward and rebounded in a feral and perplexing way. It was as if the world had existed for one minute and imploded the next. The colorful world became black and white for a second then became the size of a pebble as Time was flung out of control and out of the pathway of existence. -------------------------------------------- Inside the realm of Time, everything was out of alignment and discolored. What should be a divine realm of existence had become a confusing dimension. Star field was not a star field and the streaks of time were not streaks of time. Ararez felt dizzy and disoriented as he knelt on the pale white floor with a knee. He wasn't sure if it was a floor or if he was floating in the middle of nowhere. There was no horizon. There was nothing except the sensation of misalignment and deformation. Sky above him was light golden for one second then became black the next. They alternated rapidly, making the feeling of nausea in Ararez's stomach even worse. As Ararez stood up and allowed his Nemca to flow through him once again, he realized that Time Itself had been damaged immensely, possibly beyond the level of repair. Growling with rage, he scanned the surrounding environment hoping to find the Night Beast and put an end to everything once and for all. "There's no need to search for me," a deep voice boomed above Ararez. "I have become one with Time and now I control everything!" The Tra Dragon looked up and found his enemy. Surprisingly, the Night Beast was radiating both the divine light and the satanic darkness. His eyes were silvery, as his physical body had shrunk greatly. It was now the size of Ararez's but the aura flowing away from the Night Beast had become multiple times stronger. A strange golden armor had encased the flesh of the dark one. The protective helmet had covered Night Beast's draconic face, leaving only the eyes visible. The areas where they were not protected by the divine armor had lines like blood vessels radiating a glow of light red. The color and radiance were a strong contrast with the blackness of the Night Beast's flesh. "What have you done?" Ararez snarled as he channeled his Nemca to his palms. "Why are you wearing the Divine Armor of Time?" Softly landing in front of Ararez, the Night Beast laughed with superiority in his voice. Spreading his arms wide, he said: "Don't you like it? I think it fits me perfectly. After all, the God of Everything needs to be dressed formally so that all lower beings beneath Him would bow and tremble in fear!" Not uttering a word, Ararez roared and fired off an energy ball of icy blue toward the Night Beast. The aura sphere collided with the armor and dissipated instantly into thin air. "Don't you get it, Ararez?" The dark dragon chuckled as he slowly rose from the ground. A potent flow of golden-black Nemca began to cover his body. "You can't harm me. I am wearing the holy protective armor with the power of Time within me! What possible damage do you expect to inflict upon me?" The blue Tra Dragon slammed his fists into the ground with claws extended. Blasting his aura forward, he erected an explosion spell, which crawled beneath the Night Beast and shot upward into a column of yellow beam. The entire section of the ground shook as the fireball twirled and warped around the black dragon. Within half a second, the light blue fireball exploded and combed the floor with a distance beyond the description of words. When the light faded, the Night Beast was still half-floating in the sky with purplish electricity flickering around his torso. Eyeing the Tra Dragon, the dark one mocked: "It's useless, Ararez. You lose. I control Time now and nothing you do would win. For example, supposed that I manipulated the Time to a point where YOU would not exist. Wouldn't that be nice? Of course, I could also send you to a timeline where it is all peaceful and wonderful. You know, everyone is all happy and living in harmony. Or I could send you to a timeline where nothing but destruction upon the living world that you tried so hard to protect rampaged across countless of villages. And there, you would see all your loved ones die in the most excruciating ways possible; so gruesome were the images that you'd scream as your sanity was obliterated by the hellish images before your very own eyes." The Night Beast floated closer to his enemy and he arced his long, slender neck enough to look at Ararez right in the eyes. "Wouldn't that be nice? As you can see, I have won the war. You have lost." A sudden wall of barrier slammed into Ararez and knocked him several feet away from the Night Beast. The laughter of the dark dragon resonance across the plain of Time, which continued to glow in golden and black luminosity. Ararez groaned as he picked himself up from the ground. Panting with pain, he was not sure what he could do. Snarling and bearing his fangs, he leaped into the air and began a fury of attacks. The Night Beast backed away in the air with arms in front of his armored chest. He flicked his black tail in derision as he channeled a small amount of Time aura to erect a barrier strong enough to deflect the claws that were slashing at him. The Tra Dragon realized that physical attacks wouldn't hurt the enemy at all after a minute of non-stop assaults. He then expanded his wings and elegantly flew higher. Opening his mouth, he fired off a massive draconic beam at his opponent. The light blue and green blast crashed dead center into the Night Beast. A golden barrier was protecting the black dragon while he continued to float backward, riding the rushing beam of Nemca. Frustration quickly entered Ararez's mind as he held out his left palm with claws arcing outward. With a few words of spell enchantment, he unleashed six gigantic lightning bolts at the Night Beast, who used his right hand and caught the twisting and flickering lines of electricity into the center of his palm with his claws curved inward. Laughing, the Night Beast shouted: "It seems that you have gotten stronger. But you and I know that the result is the same. You can't win against God!" With that, the Night Beast swiped his right hand and sent back the lightning with his own Nemca infused within the destructive energy. Ararez gasped in surprised as he spun in mid-air, barely missing the counter-attack. A stream of numbing agony shot through his body even when he didn't touch the attack. The Night Beast's new Nemca power was too strong to handle. The Tra Dragon then felt his muscles cramping up as his wings began to fold uncontrollably. Before long, he crashed back onto the ground with purple electricity crawling all over his flesh. He screamed in agony while he twitched without any muscular control. The Night Beast landed in front of his prey and with a foot, he stepped onto Ararez's skull and began to apply pressure. While the Tra Dragon continued to scream in pain, the black dragon in divine armor laughed with malicious intent. The foot claws dug into the flesh of Ararez’s head and blood began to roll down from the punctures. As the torture continued, it seemed that no one could help the Tra Dragon in defeating such monster that had amazingly combined both light and dark powers together. Knowing that death was about to take over, Ararez had decided to unleash all of the Nemca that was stored within him. He remembered one of the sacred scrolls had mentioned that Tra Dragons had a central point within their souls. By unleashing the restrains that were placed within that central point by Nature Herself, the Tra Dragons could literally override Time and would be able to achieve anything desired. The only drawback was the contract of demise. By going beyond the rule of Nature, one would shatter his or her body and forever destroy their soul. It would be a sacrifice that no Tra Dragons would do easily for life was precious. Ararez knew what would happen to him if he did what the scroll had mentioned. He had no choice. Only he was able to enter the realm of Time and it was collapsing rapidly. And with the power that the Night Beast had gained, the world would be destroyed in an insane if he didn't sacrifice himself. With his mind made up, Ararez roared and pushed his Nemca to the limit. The Night Beast's eyes went wide when the same golden light that he was radiating also appeared from Ararez's body. He felt something was pushing against his foot and lifting it with ease. Though it wasn't Ararez's hands, it was something far more frightening for the Night Beast. It was the Tra Dragon's Nemca alone that did the pushing. Night Beast yelled as he channeled more of his Nemca forward and tried to push his foot back down against his enemy's skull but it was too late. There was a sudden surge of power that hit the Night Beast in the face and threw him away from his victim. The whole area lit up in a sea of golden light and in the center was Ararez, whose eyes were now light yellow and was glowing with golden blue energy. The Tra Dragon's muscles pulsed a little as the aura continued to increase its strength. A column of energy was blasting into the sky where a peach-colored vortex appeared and began to restore the actual appearance of the heaven within the realm of Time. It wasn't long before the entire plain of Time started to return to its normal color. "You idiot! Are you willing to save that pathetic world with your life? Self-destruction won't do yourself any good!" The Night Beast screamed when streaks of brilliance in golden blue sliced his Divine Armor of Time. He whimpered as he looked at his disintegrating protective garment in hopelessness. With rage suddenly flooding his mind, he shrieked: "You fool! You will kill us both!" He tried to get up from the ground but the force of the Nemca coming from Ararez was pressing him down securely. "If I can take you back to the shadow realm with me, my death will be worth it!" Ararez roared as he strained against the enormous pressure that was threatening to explode from within. He could feel his soul slowly dimming away. With an even louder howl, he squeezed the last of his aura out of his body and sent out a great flood of golden blue radiance to all corners of Time. The burning energy collided with the Night Beast's armor and gradually eroding it away further. "No! This is not possible!" The Night Beast swung his arms in twinge as he felt his essence was beginning to dematerialize. He could feel all of his power flowing toward the vortex that was still expanding itself in the sky. "No! I don't want to go back!" With his pale face, Ararez struggled to say his last few words while his aura was fading rapidly: "It's time for you to return back to where you came from, you bastard.... At.... At least I was able to see...see you being defeated by...me. Funny.... I.... I never would have t-thought that I would die...like this." With that, he closed his eyes and disappeared within a blanket of whiteness that quickly enveloped the black dragon as well. The realm of Time shook and roared for a while until a line of blueness cut through the air and grew horizontally, touching the sky and the ground at the same time. -------------------------------------------- He opened his eyes and saw the clear blue sky with a beautiful sun hovering lazily above him. Lying upon the white puffy clouds that gently bobbed up and down with the temperate breeze, he wasn't sure who he was. All he knew was something had returned normal and that everything was peaceful. Serenity was the only thing he could sense right now. As the sun shone upon him, he lifted a hand and looked at his claws. He was whole. He was not in pieces. Though why he would think that was beyond the comprehension of his mind. A voice beside him had caught his attention. He slowly turned his head as he got up and sat on the clouds. It was a beautiful female dragon in silvery white. Her eyes had colors of the rainbow and her skin had a glow of pearl pink that softly shifted in colors ever so elegantly. "Who are you?" He asked quietly. She turned around and smiled. Lifting a claw, she tenderly caressed one side of his draconic face. The warm wind crawled toward them and circled around a few times before going to somewhere far away. "I thank you for what you have done," she said. Her voice was like music to his ears. His heart quickened as he smiled dumbly. "I don't know what you mean." "You don't have to," the silver dragon grinned as she lied on the clouds. Looking up into the heaven, she talked timidly with a voice so filled with such kindness that he wanted nothing more than to hug her. But he knew he couldn't. Somehow, the female dragon seemed to be...superior than he was. "I don't know what I did or how I got here." "You don't need to." His eyes were filled with puzzlement. "At least tell me who you are." She giggled and stood up silently. Turning around, she arced her tail behind her and spread her wings lightly. The sun had created a glow around her. She was like a Goddess. "You can call me Nature." "Nature? That's an odd name." She nodded. Leaning down, she said: "Indeed it is. Suffice to say that it is my name and I have no other. You have done your work and I deeply thank you for restoring the balance to the world." He tilted his head. More confusion dominated his mind and thoughts. "I don't understand. What have I done?" "You don't need to understand. Now that everything has returned to normal, I shall be on my way." She leaned down and kissed him gently on the face. Looking deeply into his icy blue eyes, she whispered: "Now you can live in peace forever, until the day that your descendents have to take on the role of the Protectors of Time." With that, the world that he was in turned white and he lost all consciousness. -------------------------------------------- "Hurry up!" "Will you stop being so impatient?! I am coming as fast as I can! My Mom just wouldn't let me leave the cave without finishing the dinner!" A small icy blue dragon stood at the entrance of the doorway while he waiting for his best friend. His small arms were crossed in front of his slim chest. His tiny legs were moving back and forth, kicking the small pebbles that littered around the entrance of the cavern. "Come on, Kasaran! If you don't hurry up we are going to miss the festival!" With a quick goodbye, the young light gray dragon rushed out of his den and joined his buddy. "Ararez, do you know why the elders suddenly wanted to have a celebration?" The young one panted as he ran along side of the blue one. Shrugging, Ararez replied with a childish voice: "I dunno. I think it has something to do with the celebration of Nature's birth or something." "Really?" "But the festival isn't important," Ararez lifted a small claw. Looking at his friend with his big eyes and a childish grin, he said: "I heard that there would be humans joining our dragon clans for celebration, the first time ever! I can't wait to meet them!" Before Kasaran could respond with an astonished expression, other young dragon offspring ran out from the side of the road. "Hey, Ararez! Hey Kasaran! You guys going to see the festival too?" One of the dragon teens asked while he leaped over a boulder with a quick flap of his small wings. He was unable to fly any higher than a foot until he was older. And it was the same for all other dragon children. "Of course!" "Do you think there will be lots of food and games?" Talone tagged along side of everyone else. His face was filled with excitement. Ararez poked his friend with the tip of his small, slender tail. "Duh! That's what festival is about!" "I'll race you all to the center of the Arcelin Village!" Kasaran laughed as he increased his stride and started to flap his wings as support. "Hey! That's cheating, Kas!" All the other young dragons yelled in protest as they, too, started to use their wings to assist them in the race. And as the young dragons headed to one of the most memorable celebrations in their village, fireworks went off in the night sky where the humans were lighting up their creations with torches. The voices of laughter and happiness echoed deep into the night and everyday afterward, until the time that the Night Beast had regained his strength many centuries later. But that's a story for another time. THE END This post has been edited by SolarianWolf on Jun 9 2008, 06:20 AM |

You've got me hooked. I stumbled onto this story by browsing through the board. Next thing I know, I've read the first six chapters in one sitting. Great work :D
Can hardly wait to read the entire thing. Thanks for sharing your gift with us. Your writing abilities far surpass what I could ever dream of possessing. When I'm finished reading the entire story, I'll try to post a detailed critique. Until then, I've got a great way to spend my free time  |

Great story!!!! However the ending REALLY DISSAPOINTED me.
Nature says "you can live in peace forever until..." and after that what happens??? What about Talone, Sethia, Decand, Zerac and the most important WHAT HAPPENED WITH AON!!!??? He never saw his father or homeland again??? What happened after he waked up??? It's very dissapointing to me. Well it's my opinion I hope you understand my reasons. |

I didn't put too much description for that last part because it's the manipulation of time itself by Nature and I wanted readers to use their imaginations rather than me walking them through every detail. :)
Ararez has suffered enough and she created another timeline for him to live in. Remember how in the beginning of the story that humans and dragons couldn't coexist nicely together? After the change in timeline, humans were actually invited for the first time into the dragon lands for celebration. Kasaran was supposed to be dead as well. The other Tra Dragons weren't even supposed to be there fighting with Ararez from the beginning, as insinuated by the previous two chapters or so. Aon was actually unhappy when he left his village and joined Ararez and the others. Naturally, by the way how timeline was changed, he was back with his own people before the change within himself. Finally, I figured this would be the best way to end it since half the people wanted a happy ending and the other half wanted Kasaran to be brought back. So everything was reverted back to when the characters were young and knew each other rather than when they were older. I'm sorry that you didn't like the ending all that much. There's no other way to end it. This post has been edited by SolarianWolf on Jun 9 2008, 01:02 PM |

So this is finally it, huh? Feels like a whole chapter in my life ended.
You made the perfect ending in my opinion. Nature's way of saying thank you to Are for his sacrifice - bringing him back and giving him a new life, one in which he wouldnt feel sad and alone, but rather one where he could live alongside Kas and Talone. I was touched  But this makes me wonder though...will Are still get together with Kas when they're older? Would be really cool if they did (i guess it's up to them to decide, huh?) Oh well. I sure am gonna miss waiting for these chapters solarian :D just feels kinda strange that it just ended. But you made the perfect ending for a perfect story. Thanks, and congratulations ;) ^_^ Oh, btw: If i'm not mistaken, Nature didn't manipulate/change Aon's genes, right? Can that possibly mean he will still undergo his transformation? And, if he does (or even if he doesnt, with your ending everything's possible) I think Are Kas and him will meet again ;) This post has been edited by NiceHole on Jun 9 2008, 04:34 PM |

Thanks for reading and support all this time, NiceHole. As for your questions, I guess you have to use your imaginations. :)
Yeah, it really feels a bit odd when everything ended. This post has been edited by SolarianWolf on Jun 9 2008, 04:35 PM |

Lol, bootylover. :P
No, I don't deserve anything. This something that I was interested in doing for free and it also served as a test story because it's actually my first time writing it. :) |

Haha...yeah. Sethia was more of a filler rather than the actual plotline advancement. ^_^
