I've looked for a topic like this and didn't find one...
I'd be interested to see what breeds other people have tied with. Perhaps others would too. This might be a source of info to enable people to ask people with experience of a particular breed what it was like... Please don't include crossbreeds, or likely cross breeds, or dogs you didn't quite tie with. It's up to you to decide which breed a dog you met was, and/or whether it was a cross ("mix"), I'm not checking claims! I suggest that if the dog tied (ie knot in and hard) for more than a couple of seconds, that counts. I'm not a real expert so I might be castigated for the way I treat some breeds (eg. Belgian & German Shepherds counted as two breeds, all Pointers as one breed, Cocker, Brittany and Springer Spaniels as different breeds). This isn't a scientific study and there are no prizes so please don't get excited about it...! So, I'll start things off with my 29 recognised identifiable breeds: German Shepherd Weimaraner Rottweiler Doberman Cocker Spaniel Old English Sheepdog Brittany Spaniel Great Dane French Mastiff (Dogue de Bordeaux) BullMastiff Alaskan Malamute English Mastiff Boxer Saint Bernard Bull Terrier Spanish Mastiff Great Pyrenees Labrador Springer Spaniel Husky Kuvasz Spanish Podenco Bassett Hound Belgian Shepherd Pointer Pitbull Golden Retreiver Dalmation Collie Over to you...! |

German Shepherd
Coon Hound Golden Retriever Black Lab A lot of Mutts and a couple Strays Great Pyrenees Great Dane ENGLISH MASTIFF (sigh) There are more I'm Sure, but these lovers have fond memories. My first was the unlikely cross between a Dashund and Collie. Very nice, but he left a lot of clawmarks on me which others noticed. It's a wonderfull life. |

It's very difficult to remember ever breed of canine I have been associated with.
This is not in chronological order Red Kelpie Golden Lab Black Lab Irish Red Setter English White Setter Steffie Saint Bernard Newfoundland Rottie and possible a few other breeds that I have forgotten about, not to mention cross breeds. |
